If you're the analytical/discernment personality, and especially if you're a dominant influence in your circles, it is sooo easy to do damage when you confuse weak and unruly in either direction. My opinion is that the statement should've been more organized and better explained, perhaps with a kind of cover letter describing the situation and identifying where sins exist in a set of false views and backing those up with scripture (even where obvious), following up with an affirmative approach to actual statements, once again giving the reference ch and v notations; rather than trying to make sweeping statements of negatives (what if we one day discover there WAS some global conspiracy? Zooming out, I have to say that I can’t remember ever seeing any frantic Declaration issued by Western church leaders that was intended to tear down solidarity among various non-white groups. Watching this is truly grieving my heart. I always like to take a position of protecting and giving grace on any church leader (especially) or any sinner for that matter.
