I've bought quite a bit of tackle from Carpers Essentials and I've never had anything that I could say wasn't of top quality. As for the price, well. To say that they are competitive is an understatement. They are probably a third of what you'd pay in the tackle shops

A little tip is to buy different coloured pins (really cheap off ebay/amazon etc) and colour code your rig box. Blue for Bottom bait rigs, White/Wafters, Red for Ronnies = Pop ups, another colour for miscellaneous, etc etc.

The only think I can think of that some people might find not to their liking is the lead free leader. @BivvyLife17 күн бұрын
@davidkemp-ej7ur thanks pal, if it makes it any easier for you it's taken me a long time to build it up by doing a job that I really dislike, although the hours are ideal which is why I can do a lot of fishing. Worm tea could be a great shout, you won't know until you try it for a few sessions but yes I can see that doing the job for you. Carp are attracted to worms and maggots which both give off a scent of their excretions. You could've hit on something there, the wrormery will be a great weapon for your fishing I've no doubt.

Hello mate I've purchased the same wheel as yourself could you give me a rough run through on what cables connect to what to make it abit easier as the instructions are next to nothing if you would be so kind thank you also I've bought 2x lifepo 12v 20amp batteries how would you say connect them?
@BivvyLifeАй бұрын
Hi mate. OK, if you've got the same kit as me it's a simple case of connecting the bullet connectors on the wheel cable to the matching coloured wires on the controller, the remaining white connector block is the learning wires, these dictate which direction the wheel travels. Simply reconnect them again if first connection spins the wheel in a direction that doesn't match up with the forward and reverse switch. Re- the batteries, you'll need to wire your 2x12v in series to get 24v.. Hope this helps Steve

Great video steve, informative and you done a good job! Hows it stood the test of time? No regrets or things you would do differently? Cheers, Greg 👍
@BivvyLifeАй бұрын
Hi Greg. It's absolutely superb, It moves more weight than I thought it would, the battery also lasts longer than I anticipated, I've charged it twice since the build, The first initial charge lasted around 6 weeks, I probably covered around 2.5 - 3 miles which took the charge down to just over 50% I had to recharge to 100% before taking it away for a week to eye kettleby lakes in Leicestershire. I'm still on that 2nd charge 5 weeks later with the battery at over 80%. In a nutshell, no I'd not change anything. The only advice I'd give Is, if like me you're not 100% committed to keeping some sort of cover over the electronics you might want to seal the battery in a waterproof box of some description. Thanks for the kind comments Greg. Tight lines Steve
@gregfishing6Ай бұрын
Good news mate glad your hard work paid off! that battery is really impressive! You've defo made me consider building one. I've only used the Crank type but very happy with them, extremely sharp, lovely pattern and strong although there are stronger. It's all about managing expectations for me though and at £1.50 per 10 they're incredible.

It should break at the knot so it must be fairly old line, line degrades over time, and especially when it is exposed to sunlight. Of course they don’t put the date of manufacture on the spools for that reason.

seeing the prices of carp tackle nowadays i dont understand how so many people can even afford to go fishing. over 5 quid on angling direct for a pack of 10 hooks is mental. then you have tiny bits of rubber (hook beads) costing like 4 quid nearly. mental
