I’m using a mars 5 ultra do you think this resin will work well with that printer ? Also do you think this resin will shrink a lot using silver and gold materials ? Thank you for making these informative videos, very helpful. We appreciate you.

you ever look at epoxy cast aggregate beds? some large format industrial cnc machines cannot be poured cast iron so they create a rigid mold and fill it with aggregate stone and then pour slow cure epoxy in leaving a layer at the top where beds and ways are cast in place. super interesting process that would work awesome at home cast machinery bed scales

This is great! For the face shell was that all just auto supported? No manual supports added too? I want to try larger prints like that but nervous when I see so few supports on large pieces in Blueprint! I’m used to over supporting these on other printers and still failing!
@PaulsGarage2 күн бұрын
I never add manual supports to stuff in blueprint. Prints still fail occasionally but I usually just reprint and it works fine. On other slicers yeah I go crazy with supports and heavy anchors and everything

Is there any method to adding the metals together, or do you just bung everything in at once?
@PaulsGarage2 күн бұрын
I just put it all in at once. Different metals will melt as it warms up and start dissolving the not yet melted stuff in it. It works fine

I've noticed that both you and VOGman are getting some bulging with this resin on the AmeriLabs test town print in the circle with the + inside it, at the top. I've been using this resin and getting similar issues. specifically at the inside-bottom of azure holes in rings. I'm doing 0.01mm layer heights on a Saturn 3, but it is also happening at .025mm heights. Have you found any way to eliminate this?
@PaulsGarage2 күн бұрын
I occasionally have those issues, yeah. I haven't really tried to diagnose it with this resin because I switched to Monocure Burnaway resin, which prints more like a plastic resin as it has no wax in it. I wouldn't say the finished prints are better, but it is easier to print and burnout is rapid. Interesting you're doing 0.01 layers, do you see an improvement? I've been doing 0.02 at the smallest on a Mars 5 ultra, and I barely see a difference and only in surface finish

Hi Paul. Is it safe to use my ToAuto electric foundry in my living space?
@PaulsGarage2 күн бұрын
I would advise against that. The furnace is probably safe on its own, but metals can give off fumes you do not want to breathe. Even "clean" casting grain contains fluxes designed to burn off and take gasses and other impurities with it.

Queation: I want to print little tiny figures that can be encapsulated in acrylic for making custom keyboard key caps. You mentioned that some Creality printers with lower size resolution are better for this than the large one featured in the video. Do you have a printer model by this company that you can reccommend that also meets my need?
@miguellopez33927 күн бұрын
The mars 5 Ultra from elgoo has very good pixle resolution (18 microns), second best in the industry right now and it's also beginner friendly, it cost about $280 right now, its a smaller printer so good for small things.
@PaulsGarage2 күн бұрын
I don't have any other resin printers by this company, but the best resolution printer i have is a Mars 5 ultra. The prints are a little more detailed but I think you would be surprised how good almost any resin printer can print. Most of it is down to resin and settings.

Good evening. I was watching your presentation and I came up with what I think is a brilliant idea. What if you took a solar tube and focused the light from the tube on a solar panel. I'm guessing that the light would make the solar panel very hot. So what if you could attach some small tubes to the back of the solar panel. And what if you filled the small tubes with antifreeze. Then could you transport the hot antifreeze through the tubes and heat fire bricks with the heat from the antifreeze? Could you design such a configuration?

looking for my 1st resin printer, good points all around. Heated resin seems to be east 12$ fix. Fermentation Heating Belt from china. rubber thing around the resin vat. From looking other reviews etc, saw one comparing different heating methods. Zero noise and super cheap. Guy printed in 6-10c degree room with no problem.

I have 3 3D scanners both Revopoint Ranges and the CR Ferret. I mostly scan medium to large objects. I bought the Cr Ferret because it was built up and advertised as the do it all dual mode scanner. The Good the Bad the Ugly. The good: It can scan dark objects with no scanning spray. It is very forgiving when it loses tracing. When tracking is re established, you wont have extra scan or overlapping scans of the same part. The bad it can only scan medium size objects with quality results. If you leave the on small or medium it will stay a high quality mode. It you elect to scan larger objects the option will switch to fast lower quality mode. You can tinker a try to scan large with high quality but it doesn’t always work. The bad. It can’t scan small objects as advertised. I’ve try scan spray and markers with little no no success. If you want to go with mobile scanning their is a wi fi bridge available, but not when I purchased the original unit. You have to use a specific Android phone not all phones will work. Creality may have Apple software now. Even is you do mobile scanning, it’s next to impossible to export from phone to computer to edit or use for STL,OBJ or to programs such as Blender. If you use this scanner with a desk or laptop, you will have to have a usb 3 to get quality scans. So in short, the bad out weighs the good.

Metallworker tip of the day when working with aluminium, use wax on your discs for cutting and grinding, it prevents them from gumming up! I don´t know if it will work on zamak but it can be worth a try yes?
