Didn't know that it had Ryzen 3 really and vega 6 instead of Vega 8, and a less res screen instead of FHD, and a soldered ram of just 8 GB, I was about to buy a used one from a market nearby, which offers the above mentioned specs, whixh isn't great, for around 215 USD/325,000 IQD, I wanted it for basic business/work taks such as chrome (many tabs, where the ram is an issue), emails, YT, MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), SharePoint, and some light programmes, now consuming YT and listening to music will not be great as per your review, same goes for some light FPS/RTS/RPG/Racing gaming, I was planning to have it as business/gaming light laptop to carry abd travel with(light weight and small screen in addition tp build quality and keyboard are the things I liked always about Lenovo Thinkpads.. but rest, its kinda disappointing to have soldered ram, bad cooling and low APU (CPU /GPU) TDP of 17 Watts, bad gaming experience and not so great battery life in addition to low sounding speakers, it breaks the deal to me I think, for business only though I would definitely recommend it, but why Lenovo you being kinda Apple and Nvidia doing what you did with price/specs... This is not an E series or V15 pricin/specs ... Greetings from Iraq, and thanks for the great review, subscribed and liked your video, also great to know about the wattage increasing software 😊

Big kudos for testing with and without the 17TDP limit. This indeed is a big performances boost, which makes this laptop viable for playing occasionally in the end. Thanks also for pointing the air being going to the right side, this is rare for us left handed to not be harassed by the heat :D Definitely convinced me to take the 180euro refurbished opportunity i had today. Keep up the good work ✅

A bit late here, but do you think the battery life is enough for university studies? Alot of reviews online are criticizing the X13 Gen1a's battery life alot, but I dont know if this is exaggerated. A Ryzen 5 5600U Thinkpad is about 110USD more expensive here (T14sG2a) so I dont know if it is worth it, or the X13 is enough already (battery wise).

Maybe it was mentioned somewhere in the comments but I would like to give my 2 cents as well, as a person designing and building the visual world the simulator flies through (on the defense and security side of the company). The visual background design holds accuracy to a higher standard than how nice it looks (1 example: materials. You'd notice different behavior in the sim between asphalt or concrete, going over oil slicks and the like). This has changed recently with the CAE Prodigy introduction where the visuals can finally be up to par with games but still retain the level of accuracy needed for in depth simulation of all systems and emergencies that pilots need to train for.

Hi , im looking for some suggestions. I'm in need of ultrawide, 29inch will be a sweep spot for me. Concerns are - they are mostly available in 2560x1080 resolution giving out 96ppi. 1. Will that be easy on eyes ? 2. at arm's distance is text pixelated ?. Are you able to read text (for 6-8 hours a day) at that distance comfortably ? Also, i'll be using it in grayscale mode and in split screen. so what options do you suggest ? Should i go for VA (as major use wll be in monochromatic mode) or IPS. Budget is a concern. Also, typing this from 15 inch 109ppi laptop screen. so u have an idea of the kind of upgrade experience i can have.

From a speculation standpoint, regarding the speakers... Older Lenovo models had speakers to left and right of the keyboard. But the microphone might have been picking up the audio resulting in audio-feedback. A downward facing speaker would mitigate that... at the cost of quality, as you've pointed out.
@janwitkowsky878710 ай бұрын
An additional difference between Ryzen 5 3500U and the Pro version, is that the pro-version uses a bit less power and generate a bit less heat. This is repeated in desktop Ryzens, where the Pro versions have a lower TDP rating than their non-pro counterparts. Some Desktop Pro versions, depending on motherboard, are also locked from overclocking.

@@Tech2PapaDude. It just came in the mail today. It's even better than I thought. It barely looks used at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it was ordered for an office and either only used in dock mode, or not used at all. Pristine besides a few light scratches on the outside of the case. It was 300 in total including shipping and tax, which was more than my 200 budget for a "fun" thinkpad that could also be used as a media streamer and linux try-er. Then I saw this x13 listing with 32gb ram and looked immaculate. I had to go for it, and I don't regret it. It's FAR better than any new laptop for that price, both in build quality, and processor/ram unless there's some flash sale. It's so great, I love it. For some reason, they had this listed cheaper than the gen 1 i5's. You made it look as good as it feels to me right now :)

Hi Thank you for the content, I am interested in knowing about the gamma/gamut/colourspace of the screen, is it 100%sRGB and 100% Adobe RGB and 100% DCI P3? How much is the delta shift on the colur? <2 or worst? At the moment I have an old MSI for creators with good colour gamma but after 5years is breaking apart and I must change it with a ggod machine that has a good fideilty on colur space and is updated to today, spendjing on the middle-cheap side. When you use it for example to render video with a video editing app, and in the same time use a Photoediting app, and in the same time put in background youtube to hear someone while you are working does this Machine overheat? I didn't find also how many decibel are the cooling fan when is in the "quiet mode" and when is in the rendering and photo editing mode, how loud is it? like silent for a bibliotek or noisy for a café? I may be recording audio directly on the pc and hearing the ventilation is not good, I may be using in silent environments like bibliotek. A last question please, how good are the audio spekers? Thanks, Max P.S. I am specifically interested in the 16 inches 2023 model, Thanks
@Tech2Papa11 ай бұрын
Since you’re interested in the 16” model, I’m not sure the content of the video will apply to that version, but the information you want about the screen and speakers is within their respective sections in the video (just use the timestamps). As for noise in quiet mode when doing productive tasks, I actually tried using quiet mode when I was writing the script for this video. That means I’ll be making benchmark charts on Excel and writing on a word document while switching between a bunch of Chrome tabs. This laptop was extremely quiet during the entire session.

@Tech2Papa Жыл бұрын
That’s tough. I think in terms of CPU power, the (I assume) i5-8250U will be slightly faster than the R5 3500U with the same core counts, similar clocks, and slightly higher IPC. Other than that, the T480S and X395 are pretty similar laptops with only minor differences in ports, dimensions, and weight. Unless one laptop has a specific feature you want that the other does not, I’d buy whichever one is the cheapest.

I do like how you demonstrated this with different types of flight games, instead of just primarily focusing on Microsoft flight sim. This review gave me a better idea that I can use it for the combat flight games I have. Maybe I'll try some Velcro scrips on the bottom for my temporary set up when it arrives.
