When I was at school I lent a cassette of Rum Sodomy and the Lash which had just come out to two girls and asked them to listen to it, and the next day they gave it back saying “it was full of Irish music”….the implication was that meant it was rubbish. So I often think, Sherene and Jane, if you ever heard Fairytale of New York later on when it popularised the Pogues, and put it together that this was the same genius you dismissed back in 1985. I doubt it, though. Some people have ears but just can’t hear.

My cousin lived in a house with Christy Moore. She is a good woman and a singer/musician but mainly an Irish Woman. She said “Michael, that fecker wouldn’t shut the fuck up playing” 😂😂😂😂😂❤

So taken by the respect and care Mr. Moore shown toward Shane. Appears that he lowered his voice in deference to that of a weakened Shane.

THE BEST IRISH BAND EVER old boy! I first heard this music in Mt Isa in Queensland in 1974 and 1975 and it has always given so much of the spirit of Ireland and its fabulous musical history. Fantastic
