The best song he has ever written.. Speaks volumes of truth about the battles of farmers and rural towns.

Hold on Mate... I'm his biggest Yank Fan! Lived in Thirroul, NSW, Oz., for 11 years. Now living in Texas, USA. We have had drought for so long now, with a few respite months of rain but not enough long term, that I often sing this song and "Longreach is Prayin' for Rain"!

Takes me way out west past Mungindi, staying at an old homestead I can see a mother cursing dust and feeling so alone, a fathers despair with no sons to help run the farm and drought turning his dreams to dust but they keep battling on !

John Williamson's music is real "Australian" country music, the rest just mimic Nashville.

What does he mean about the bitumen roads?
@lesleyvass87392 жыл бұрын
Bitumen roads quite often bi-pass the towns, so traffic doesn’t stop…and businesses suffer.
