That is crap. Very few people have that as a household income and Porsche sell over 40k of these. I expect household incomes of $150k for the Macan given that it starts at $60k.

Poor man Porsche? you mean a little more affordable Porsche than the GTS. No Poor man should be buying a Porsche. Stick with a 10 year old RAV4. You’ll save more and spend “less” in maintaining the car. High end cars are great, I love them. But then what if a rich man bought a Nissan Versa? Now what ? is he looked at as a Poor man? We need to take titles off what people can and cannot afford. Great review.

The actual Poor Man's Porsche is a used Boxster. Everything else now is crazy money, even used. Back in 2003, I bought a THREE Porsches for $20k a 911SC for $13k, a 944 for $2k and a 928S for $5k. Those days are long gone...

I used to think I’d rather have a fully loaded mainstream vehicle than a base high end but after having bought each, there’s still a reason why even a base model Porsche is light years ahead of a fully loaded Hyundai/Genesis. The base Macan is by no means a weak car.. for most people who don’t go to the track or haul trailers, this is plenty of power to overtake on a motorway or gun it from the traffic light

Next on the list.. Yes, a Macan. But I would not buy the base Macan. For the $$ I would look else where. Either "S" or "GTS" Macan, as mentioned earlier, go else where, like a Q5(Same engine/power as the base Macan). Alfa Romeo(Stelvio),with 280HP if you're looking at base engines..

If you buying a Macan for power and engine performance, you missing the point. Don’t get suckered into magazine racing. Macan with air suspension and 20” wheels with 265/295 rubber is the sweet spot and gets you 85+ percent of the experience. I just bought a CPO Macan Sport Edition. It’s an amazing car, at everything. The engine doesn’t hold it back. I’ve test driven a dozen Macan’s at every trim and generation and settled on the SE because it was actually relatively inexpensive.

Good video! I was hoping for a walk around and open the back door and discuss carrying capacity and what is it like to sit in the back seat. However, I appreciate the review. How does this compare to Audi A6 allroad or the Mercedes station wagon? Would youi get this over the Audi Q 5? I like to hear more about those things so if thinking about buying it.

I own a 2021 Macan base and the cargo space is non-existant. I honestly would choose a Q5 over a Macan. Rear seat is tight if you're tall but fine if you're short.

As much as I love Porsche, I can't help but compare it's base model Macan (which is still a whopping 54k starting) to other offerings such as its Korean competitors like the GV70 which "fully loaded" (and I mean LOADED) is about 65K. Crazy to compare the two, but for a daily driver it is a strong contender

How does it not have Android Auto in 2022? That's crazy. Also, my Tacoma gets the same MPG. That's disgraceful. I've driven a couple of these and the chassis is fantastic (for an SUV). But those glaring issues (plus haptic buttons) mean it's a hard pass for me.

We were car showing at the beginning of the year and was not impressed by the Macan, felt very claustrophobic, hated the buttons or haptic buttons and it is small. Great drivers car but that’s it. We settled for a BMW X3 M40i, slightly more expensive than the base macan price, well worth it though

Did RAV 4 have any of the handling or turbo acceleration of the base macan? If you're living anywhere near a city, I guarantee you will use the extra hp organically maybe, maybe once a month.... unless you go hunt for a straightaway on an empty highway to have a few seconds of adrenalin rush. Just saying.. and the heavier engine takes a toll on handling.

The #1 Tip told to me when I bought my first Porsche however many years ago now: Don't buy a base model. It's the fastest way to give it away that "Yeah, this is my first Porsche." That said, my Macan GTS was a pretty stout $86,000 when new and my Panamera watered the eyes at just south of $105,000 when new. You MIGHT be able to get your hands on a base Macan for the Mid-50s, but why would you want to? Just work a bit harder (or be smart and buy a CPO) and get a better model. The Base is what the dealer gives you as a loaner.

Nothing screams "this is my first Porsche" like a base model Panamera, Cayman, or Macan. At the very least, buy the S.

We will keep our 21 Q5...I cant see spending the coin for the Porsche name tag....Not as Impressed...upper trim level, possibly yes...but then again price and what you get is exaggerated vs the competition. At that point Id get the Sq5 which is not that much more than the base Macan and made by the same family or the BMW X3 for a little more.
