Nice that you followed some of the rules. You are correct about fires in metal containers and hauling out ashes. You should look into the CA State Parks regulations on dogs (leashed and not allowed beyond road end) and drones(not allowed).

Oh Man, I wish I would have known about the Overlanding for Warriors Event. I’m not a Veteran but my birthday is on Veterans Day. I can think of a better way to spend my birthday than Overlanding and giving to the Veterans. Maybe next year I will learn about this in time to get signed up to come along !!

Longtime buddy is a horse trainer in Bishop. He has showed me a lot of spots not known to the public. One great way to go from Bishop to Mammoth area and not known well is taking Hwy6 out of Bishop by the fairgrounds north about 30 plus miles and turn left on Hwy 120 ....You will go through Benton which is a small Indian town. Consignment shop here has private gravity fed wood hot tubs for rent in the woods in back. Anyway continue on Hwy 120 through the desert on a very interesting Hwy with whoop de doooos in the road. My buddy goes arrowhead hunting here. you will rarely see another car on this Hwy, way less stressful than 395. Eventually you will start seeing pine trees and getting into the forest. You end up coming out at Mono Lake. Drive is not that much longer than 395 and I prefer it.

I have had built Jeeps for 40 years and recently bought a 24 Bison because it is just so much better all around than a Gladiator. Only thing I’m disappointed with is the lack of a skid protecting the transmission pan, but there are aftermarket solutions and unfortunately not AEV, kinda surprised GM and AEV for some reason felt it wasn’t needed

Suggestion: I've noticed a change of sorts in the 'evolution' of 395 junky. For whatever reason growth isn't always great. I see that in the changes of recent and before. Pay a visit back to that series where what you did attracted people. Good luck. Maybe see you on the 395 trail for Fall Color changes are ready to occur

Sad all that truck and you need lockers front and back SAD, I did this last month by myself with no lockers just a locking Transfer case.

I'd be interested in knowing where you will relocate the spare tire. That's the only gripe I have with mine
