Once you start to understand it and find the way you like to work it's fun non stop. PS. This is KO2. The KO1 (teenage engineering pocket operator 33 KO) is only €80. €100 if you buy the silicon case. It is a pocket sized sampler and 16 step sequencer with 4 stereo voice polyphony and pattern chain. Also has 16 nice effects. Lots of lo fi fun for €100.

one way to get around the limitation of voices.. you can compose outside of the KO2... use a project in the KO to get as many things done as you can. record audio tracks into your daw. use another project within the ko2 to build more up. not the best, but it is a way.

Ricky you are amazing at making tracks. I too was frustrated by the voice stealing, because if the machines polyphony limitations I found that stereo samples were best reserved for one crutial aspect. mono drums, mono bass, mono leads. something like a pad or those keys with a lot of stereo motion are really the limit of the device. essentially I consider it 10 mono sounds and one stereo. Also consider using the group function for samples to eliminate accidental sample overlap

Hey Ricky, amazing groove in a matter of minutes. Could you do a slower explanation of how you did the breakdown. Like a step by step guide. I’ve watched and rewatched multiple times and I can’t figure out what you did with the fader for the drop. Loving my ko ii already

I just bought a 1KG calibration weight to use it as a hold key to record with two hands

Long and ardous is the hunt for the one-in-all tool that doesn't make you drop Italian hand gestures or curses.

I love mine too! Few buts (that can be fixed hopefully), but very inspiring to play with. Speaking of Song. Can’t figure out how to remove a scene. Shift+Commit copy/replace scene to the next one, but I made too many scenes, how to remove/arrange them?
@TheHexCube Жыл бұрын
Keep holding [ERASE] and [MAIN] until 'SCN' blinks on the screen to erase the current scene.

I'm not sure yet how to rearrange the scene order.

@@TheHexCube You are right! I guessed doing that before, but I did not work because I was doing it while playing, silly. When it’s not playing it’s says DEL. Now need to be careful with it without backup :) it would be nice to have at least save to other project slot like in OP-Z.
@TheHexCube Жыл бұрын
@@samprock I got that from somewhere in the online guide, actually you should continue holding until 'SCN' blinks and changes to 'DEL', then it's done. There are a few errors in the guide which can throw new users off a bit. Hopefully T.E. will sort these things out along with a prompt update to support a simple thing like scene-chaining which the original KO did like a dream. Looking forward to the future but for now I have enough to get familiar with this gorgeous little thing! I love it. Best wishes to you mate. 👍👍

@@TheHexCube Thanks mate! Loving it as well. Chaining is needed. Not familiar with og KO but OP-Z chaining scenes nicely. Now I have 3 distinct pieces for the song, don’t know what to do next. Can’t even play to record, have to turn scenes precisely. Thought to record MIDI to Live to move on with a song but not that simple. Hope they will enable usb audio and at least usb midi. Dropped nylon string guitar and hang drum onto calculator to play a new song for now 😎 webbased editor with preview to device is nice, did not notice before but assign samples to pads into exact project. What if they do midi editor for notes and song arranger in!?!? Would be nice, that would be even easier than what they have now sample with waveform preview. Hope TE will not fire the whole team due to first QA issues LoL

You have the patience of a saint Ricky. I'll still abide by my comment on your previous video and say that this device has still a long way to go and adding resampling, the ability to loop samples and sampling while the sequencer is running are a top priority (which, if anybody is curious, has been the top requests of the beta testers for a long time and they have gone unheard).

I spent quite a bit of this video distracted by the guitar case that's behind you and to your left. Looks like the older style of Rickenbacker case, so I'm wondering it there's a 4003 bass in there.

But it just sounds gorgeous. Guess the trick is: 2 EP-133 K.O. II (!) 😅

I definitely consider my KO2 as an instrument rather than a full production tool.
