I think these nodes are "poorly managed" in some areas on purpose to f up with you, like the traffic signals being 40 sec red and 5 sec green. Rockstar want you to feel frustrated in traffic, im surprised it doesn't have huge congestions
@AmasterWhatifs22 сағат бұрын
All i hear is that midnight club los Angeles has better traffic ai than grand theft Auto 5 as someone who only cares about rockstar's midnight club franchise as the only good franchise they made that is a win in my book

Starfield feels like Skyrim in space not because it's as deep as Skyrim anywhere you go, but because the content of the game is about as much as Skyrim, but spread out across tens of planets, so it has 10x more empty space between interesting locations.

NPCs calculate your possible direction, even while turning. Which makes it so that in modern GTA:O where cars can go really fast, even a slight turn to the right can mean that NPCs think you are going to crash into them. You can test this with pedestrians. Go in the right lane, much faster than you normally would and for a really short time, turn right where you would hit a ped and immediately correct yourself. The ped will think you are hitting them and play the "caution" animation. The same thing happens with drivers, they are always trying to predict where you are going and given that each NPC has a "syncer" player that can mean that a player 500meters away is syncing the NPC that is besides you, slightly turning right could mean that the driver thinks you are trying to crash into them from the right (bad netcode, ping, etc.) thus causing the driver to swerve left, crashing into you. I was actually really into this topic some years ago but didn't have a platform where I can voice my knowledge.

@VanTemplarКүн бұрын
So basically NPC don't crash intentionally into you, it's just that R* never figured out how to properly code the traffic (this is happening since GTA III btw). Literally in no other GTA-clone this happens: Mafia, Saints Row, Watch Dogs, Sleeping Dogs, True Crime series, etc.

I plaid 95 percent of my time on story mode(only samp really swooped me away), and the npc always got into me, at a point that it started being predictable, if i saw one slow down or something that is not going straight (you can see sudden movement sometimes) i will just go on the other side of the road, and actually it is the answer, they will go away from you if you go on the other direction

I never even considered potential desync causing NPCs to swerve out of the way of your vehicle before it even arrives where the NPC is trying to dodge, they could even be working off of the vehicle's predicted location rather than current location, then again I wouldn't expect Rockstar to have prediction for vehicles, especially for p2p connections.

Summary, it's not the npc is doing it on purpose. It's just a skill issue.

Funnily enough, I was having a blast until someone cheated and gave me all the money it took to unlock everything Heists were cool, I met a crew of chill, but very competent people and heisting had it's challenges but was still fun Then one of them gave me like $100mil by cheating And uh I bought all the stuff I would have wanted. And I never touched the game after that day. That was the first day he realized the game wasn't actually pulling heists and having fun, the game (and they designed it this way on purpose) was grinding for things in the game. :(

but... I was playing GTA online for 10 years from Xbox 360 to Xbox one & all the way up to the series X, I have 123km continius driving record without car crashing.. (even though failed to improve my record time) I had one route, around whole map trough the highway & I was driving online on this route nonstop when I had time.. like, 2-3 hours every day, with different cars of mine, which I had 100 of them.... so, long said short, I noticed & my memory learned when & where which car from what lane would change the line abruptly! so because I knew every spot & every lane behavior, I managed to drive 123km around the map without crashing... for many this sounds stupid but for me this was really chilling & relaxing gameplay after 10 years of madness, destruction, killing, bank robbery, heists! chases! races! escapes from prison! robbery of casinos & so on! after buying everything & every desirable cars! all I wanted in the online was cruising around the map... with different times & weaters, different musics in the car & occasional online player encounters, funny people, spicy people, mad people or business people... all kind... so, that was my history with GTA online... now I waiting patiently to GT6 online... let's see wat they bring to us.

Rockstar did the same nonsense in RDR2, half the time when you ride past another person on a horse they swerve in front of you. It's not quite as bad as GTA5 but they swerve fake you all the time when you're riding horse full speed.
@Oldass_Deadass_dumbass_channelКүн бұрын
The best way to avoid this is driving full speed head on into everyone you see ahead of you on the trail. You'll still hit em, might lose a horse if you haven't stocked up on magic horse juice™ recently, but at least you'll gain the satisfaction of seeing you and them both go flying, alongside a perfect opportunity to get yourself a fancy wedding ring. Only lightly used as well, what a steal!

On the ps3 version it wasn't so bad, Rockstar made the traffic and police harder to deal with (they did cops multiple times) because many players found the game too easy, it's programmed in, if you want proof, go read patch notes yourself. I'm not digging through them.
@AshenVanguard2 күн бұрын
Man... I would love this type of video but on Ghost Recon Wildands. That game has one of the biggest maps out there with so many highways and country roads, I always wondered how Ubi solved traffic there - because it is pretty lively and not robotic.

This is so… overwhelming to me. GTAV must have been a nightmare to organize and execute from a product design perspective. Granted they didn’t do everything from scratch, but still. Rockstar is one of the best to ever do it.
@robloxparkour36482 күн бұрын
they need add turning signals before switching lanes at this point
@JustSomeDude8482 күн бұрын
My most egregious case of it is a car coming from the far side across the street(4 lanes away) and running me over on the SIDEWALK while I was doing whatever I was doing, then going back to their route. I wasn't even in a car. It went so far out of the way to hit me, there's no way it wasn't intentional.

It happens way too often. Either it’s by design or it’s by mistake, either way it’s unpleasant and frequent. “It happens more in online,” no it doesn’t, it’s just that more people are _playing_ online, so it gives the impression that it happens more frequently there when that’s not the case. Honestly if you’re not a speed runner you probably don’t keep playing GTA V story too much longer after beating it. You’ll either switch to online or find a different game to occupy your time, either way the GTA V story players will be perpetually in the minority by a large margin when you draw conclusions from the playerbase.

Ahh so theyre coded to hit you. Okay
@dukkiegamer17333 күн бұрын
So they are not coded to crash into the player, but they are coded in such a way that the chance of crashing into the player drastically increases. And it's "not on purpose". The whole ass game is a parody. I refuse to believe this isn't on purpose. Like making the area to switch lanes really short can still be done on purpose to make it seem like the traffic is terrible (like irl in big cities).
