Maybe it's because the Dreamcast version was the only version I played I didn't notice any issues with the gameplay.

Always cool to see how devs try to squeeze as much as they can and what sacrifices had to be made out of really old tech like this game on the PS1 or Alpha 2 on the SNES.

The Saturn was the 2D king

Remember playing this on my 486DX4. It was super slow on most levels. Framerate was all over the place. Good times.

Goes to show that SEGA makes superior consoles. BUT consumer response favors the PLAYSTATION. Same thing happened in the following generation of consoles. DREAMCAST is superior console BUT people still faithful to the PLAYSTATION 2. Then XBOX came in with almost same features of the DREAMCAST.

However the japanese version of sf alpha anthology featured significantly more games from the jp alpha versions of the game even adding the american version of alpha 2 and much more❤❤❤❤❤

12:12 the loading time on the SNES could have been avoided, it’s a lazy programming error. And the game doesn’t suck at all : it was an incredible achievement back in the days, it’s totally playable and renders great on a CRT. A 32X version without loading times like on the Sega Saturn and PSX would have been superb though

voice samples on Sega saturn are compressed which makes them sounds bad.

All this is missing is comparing the gameplay intricacies between all the versions. The Dreamcast version is an entirely new revision regarding balance and introduced input delay to compensate for online play. Which was never removed when ported to Naomi as Zero 3 Upper.

IMO SFA3 was maybe Capcom's best work on the PS1. Very impressive version considering the limitations, and how bad SFA2 was on PS1.

This game was horrible compared to Alpha 2. But if I was to choose, NO console will touch the Dreamcast

Specifically when it comes to comparing Capcom's 5th gen Arcade conversions, once the 4MB RAM cartridge entered the picture, the Saturn versions' audio got "buffed" for nearly every game Capcom used it with. They knew they had solved the minor issue in that area that you pointed out with SFA2. Case in point: The 4MB cart's debut was with Saturn's Xmen vs Street Fighter conversion... and not only were the voice samples spot-on with the arcade board's already, Capcom saw fit to add in the "Sharp S.E." amplification. It can be enabled in the Options screen on the Stereo setting. 4MB conversions were (and still are) mighty... but as seen here, Street Fighter Alpha 2 was a great Saturn conversion even without any type of RAM cartridge involved.

So.. the best versions are Arcade, PS2, PSP, Saturn?

PS2 SFA3 Upper is my go to version. It's the best of the lot even without the extra modes.

Dreamcast version is far superior. In the GBA "It feels and plays better than the Dreamcast version", is absolutely preposterous. The PS1 version, sadly, is rubbish compared to all other ports.

Gotta say, the handheld versions are the most impressive ones. They manage to be even more accurate than the home console ports in some aspects. Overall, all ports of this fantastic game are awesome in their own right. That, my friends, is a feat in itself.

PSP is the definitive version with all the characters in the game, especially Ingrid.

For me, it's either the Neo Geo or the Neo Geo CD. The latter is affordable in the secondhand market.

Although it's not shown in the video, i think the NAOMI version of alpha 3 upper is one of my favorite ports since it had more characters and used the arranged soundtrack. I think alpha 3 max on psp is the overall best port available.

I had CVS Pro for PS1 and CVS2 for Dreamcast and later played CVS Pro for Dreamcast on emulation and back then I couldn't see all the cuts cause I never played them side by side and the technology back then helped the PlayStation cause on my CRT television it looked great and obviously Dreamcast looked incredible coming through it but to think that the PlayStation was missing so much blows my mind watching this like I didn't notice the arcade was a rain stage or that intros were missing I was just having fun with what looked like the best looking fighter ever at the time. One thing I remember most for PlayStation was the loading screens though. I got the PlayStation port way later in life after I sold my Dreamcast to GameStop to get an OG Xbox and that's when CVS2 came out but Xbox magazine had a demo disc with the whole game on it back then and called it a demo, I played that til the Xbox 360
