@@vcdecide It's sad that youtube has decided to demonetize comparison videos that do not have voice overs. I know it also happened to the channel "old style gaming". I imagine it hit Luiz Almeida's channel as well. Old Style Gaming started adding voice overs, since he's a native English speaker. However, this policy seems especially bad for those who are not speak English speakers.

I will tell you some points to add in your video that you may have missed: 1 - The second win pose for Billy Kane, in the arcade, are not the same in the Neo Geo CD, and this may is the same in the Saturn and PS versions too. 2 - In the "South Town Bridge" stage, if you break the corner at the right side in the first round in the arcade, you can hear the firemen sound and the corner is in fire at the second round, with the firemen trying to stop the fire. In the other versions of the game this effect does not exists, I think. 3 - In arcade version, If you use the Geese ground grab (Thunderbird Explosion Slam) you will see the "wave" animation like you see in the Mary's M. Diving Smasher, but with a different color. In the other versions of the game this effect does not exists, I think. 4 - If I remember correctly, the blood is this game is represented in different ways, varing according to the region (and maybe language in some ports?) and version (you can see 3 different colors: red, white and green). 5 - Try to break the corners and finish the enemy with the Kim's Potential Power "Chinese Phoenix Kick". This will cause the enemy to be thrown further or higher than normal, and you can see another situations like the enemy not inside but on the train (West Subway) or the enemy shocks itself with something before falls in the water (Sound Beach) and others. Those situations does not occur in some versions of the game.

Best garou/fatal fury game, in my opinion. The first "normal" is nostalgic (playing on my mega drive back in the early 90's), but the first "real bout" (in a playland of a local shopping XD) , oh boy!

Real Bout is the real deal. To me the best period for FF was RB1-RBS, despite the undeniable technical and artistic achievements of Garou (story included).

The Real Bout series are my favourite 2D Fighters of all time. Whilst not necessarily the best, this one is my all time favourite as Andy is my main and he was at his all time best in this game. And Kim too imo. RBS and RB2 are godlike too.

The cool thing about PS2 port is that the Arrange OST also contains the full version from each track, unlike the PS1 and Saturn (and maybe NGCD version as well?), which usually end at two minute mark, most likely due to saving the disc space. Regardless, excellent comparison!

On neo geo cd and ps1 in the harbor stage (yamazaki/billy) it miss some details (the firefighters and you can hear an explosion on the arcade version)after you make a out of bound at the right side of the stage. i don't remember for the saturn version.

Thanks for the info! That's absolutely true. If you throw your opponent out of bounds, in the next round there'll be firefighters and that truck will be on fire - Arcade only.

Fatal Fury Real Bout..... was an incredible mracolous conversion for Psx... was a great game, well playable and with an Incredible OST... if People all around the World know this game, You must say THANK YOU.... louder... to PSX, because with this console available everywhere, everyone had seen this incredible game!!!! Incredible sound...and incredible INTRO..... woooow... and when you open the Psx disc, you can see a black-suited disc.... same as the 4 Mafia bosses inside the cover!!! It intrigued me as well. I had to recheck that, but the output is always mono for those games. But that's not a problem when changing discs like KoF '95 for example.

That's snk's fault the games are in mono while running. notice when you play the music while on the saturn dashboard the tracks are in stereo which means snk didn't check to see if the system is set to stereo while the games are running.

Missing frames does not tend to bother me, I own both PS1 and Saturn (as well as both PS2 Battle Archives volumes) versions of this game. Characters do only have 1 win pose each, so I do tend to miss Mai's other winposes, as I do use her the most.

I have the import and US releases of both Fatal Fury archives. FF Battle Archives 1 is pretty much identical. As for FF battle Archives 2 the US version is censored and also missing the battle tutorial setup for each game...they are totally stripped out. However the Japanese version is intact thru and thru with blood and no edits. Why they edit out the tutorial before the start of the game I do not know

That one isn't a straight port on the PS1, it's a reworked version of the arcade game with new last boss (White), planes of fighting gone, and Alfred added to the intro (can't remember if he is selectable, or a hidden fighter though).

I find it rather odd that they released the Japanese PS2 collections of AOF and FF, as well as Samurai Shodown in the West but not KOF or the rest of the Online Collection. Doesn’t make a lick of sense to me. It would have sold so much better compared to that awful Orochi Saga compilation. The sound was slightly compressed but wasn’t such a dealbreaker compared to the piss poor emulation done by whoever did the Orochi Saga in the west.

I remember reading somewhere that all Japanese versions of those SNK PS2/Wii collections were better than their American counterparts (besides the censorship issues) I haven`t compared all of them but I do remember a lot of bugs and missing features on the KOF collection. In KOF 94 for instance there were some missing stage intros and several audio bugs not present in the Japanese version. A comparison of those would be great but I`m aware that the Japanese version of those collections are not easy to get.

It is true for the Orochi Collection, and explained on my KoF videos. It's a different compilation made by another company but it's missing '94 and '98 on the JP release. This collection, however, is already great on the US release, besides censorship.

19:08 Should have noted that this game introduced the 1MB RAM cart to the Saturn and required it. Don't know why SNK undermined their NeoGeo CD by upgrading their competitor's machine to offer a really close experience, faster load times and a better value (i.e. you can play other games besides NeoGeo games on a Saturn, unlike the NeoGeo CD).

The Neo CDZ exists, and trust me, it is better to have one of those than the original Neo CD. Late games like KoF 99 and both Last Blades suffer from some considerable load time son both the CD and CDZ, but the latter shortens things up a bit with load times.

Neither it, nor the PS1 version are bad, people just like to run their yaps to parrot what others say. Personally, I don't care either way,I enjoy having both versions in my collection, just a few of the 58 or SNK fighters I have spread across 7 of my 12 consoles/handhelds I own.

I own KoF 97 on the PS1 and the Saturn (amongst the 4 ports/emulations I have of it, the emulations coming from the Wii Orochi Saga and Japanese PS2 Orochi Hen), the PS1 version isn't horrible by any stretch. Sure it has missing animation frames and is slightly choppy, but it is still quite fun and playable.
