@@LivetoDriveUK I have asked & asked but according to Patrick because they work on margins they don’t do it which makes using them for a vehicle intended for work not suitable. On my transaction have found them very poor at communicating and responding to my enquiries. The actual auction bit was great but shipping etc not so good.

Kei Cars may indeed be less safe than standard cars, But in 2020 there were 10905 accidents involving standard cars in Japan and 29 people died in those accidents; there were 2344 accidents involving Kei Cars and 9people died. In percentage terms, the difference is very small: 0.27% for the standard car and 0.38% for the Kei Car. New Kei Car models are not only light and very strong, with high-tensile steel used in many places, but they are also commonly fitted with automatic braking, and multiple airbags and sonner. The important thing, however, is to drive safely at a set speed, and this is no different for regular cars and Kei Cars.

That's fascinating to read. We own some old classic cars which naturally would not be particularly good in a crash. We find we drive them accordingly. One issue with modern vehicles is that they have become so safe, some people take more risks as it leads them to feel almost invincible. I agree about basically driving safe, no matter what you drive, which is why I completed an Advanced Driving Course in 2014. Thanks for watching and your comment.

There are 183 reviews currently on Google, only 3 are rated low and of those one has no reason given and one because cars remain showing for sale for a period of time after being sold. Personally, I will be a returning customer.

Wow Paul, you really have surprised me, but I do understand your reasoning and can see you are doing what's right for that fine S70, I love the colour and the car, If I was in the UK Id buy it in a heartbeat as its so right, I see it on the KGF website and ask myself what else could I buy for that money, not much, its a no brainer, its a safe and solid car that looks like new without all the hi-tech crap that's in all new cars, sorry to see it go but I fear others like maybe the Rover will be going too, Enjoy and Thanks.

Yes it's complicated but ultimately less than 300 miles in a year, all in one journey, does not a good proposition make. The fleet is not going to go down by any significant number, indeed there is something to be announced that's joining, but I'm not happy with the garages and not prepared to pay money for one which is simply keeping an unused car in. There is no decision yet on any of the others but the Rover 75 has done... Zero miles in 12 months. Thanks as always 👍

I sold my MGTF as I moved house and lost my double garage. That garage had condensation too! I sold it to my friend’s brother who hardly uses it. Think about 300 miles between MOTs. I sold my Fabia VRS when I bought my campervan as I didn’t have the space for it. Still miss that car, and the campervan which also got sold in 2022. I am happy with my latest Fabia which goes in my carpeted heated garage now. Somtimes you have to move on cars and let someone else have them, not to mention the savings you would make.

'... Carpeted heated garage.' That sounds great. Yes I think so long as we have enjoyed cars it's often time to move on. When a car does 300 miles in a year it is neither good for the car or the bank balance.

I moved back into my childhood home after mum died. She used the garage as a music room in the warmer weather. I should take it up and either paint the floor or put proper garage flooring down. The big radiator keeps it damp free set to the minimum I can go on the thermostat.

It does sound perfect to me. The cars at home are kept undercover within a kind of 'drive-thru' carport where the front has a garage door and a proper roof and the rear an additional wooden framed carport. Have been told it's good for the cars as they are dry, protected from UV damage and have all the ventilation needed. For me, in winter, it's bloomin cold!

Hi, do you have a favourite year of Fortwo? I want a small, nimble automatic that looks good and is as economical as possible. Currently looking at 2014 models on autotrader. Hate the much newer models with the totally redesigned ‘boxy’ looks. Want to go as new as possible but retaining the original Smart look
@LivetoDriveUK
@LivetoDriveUK 29 күн бұрын
I have a 2012 (451) so it's still the shape of a Smart what you want. Personally, although you want as economical as possible, I would always buy the turbo. Not because they are more fun, although they are, but because the MHD, which stands for Mild Hybrid Drive, even though it's not a hybrid but simply a Stop-Start system, there is a belt that must be checked and changed at the correct intervals otherwise if it snaps, a warning light will come on and you must stop the car immediately. The problem is because the car still drives, many continue to drive and this will cause expensive engine damage. You can read more on the Evilution website which is the best place for Smart car owners and is trusted by them. All the best with your search. www.evilution.co.uk/mod/should-i-buy-an-mhd.htm

No. Mine is a Passion but was ordered from the factory with Brabus equipment. The MHD is fine if you know what to look for and adhere to the warning by turning off the engine if the belt fails.
