Thanks for the video on your Japanese import experience. I understand the trust with Importing, but if we don't trust people in business we would never get anywhere. Thankfully most people are not out to scam you. As a rule of thumb, when I'm doing business with someone for the first time, I always travel to their place of business and meet them face to face, I'm old school. Good luck with your new adventure - Tanto.

08:35: Is there any kind of setting to prevent this: When pressing the pedal to try to quickly accelerate in a junction, the car slows down due to shifting to a lower gear? It could just continue using the gear it had (the car was already moving without too much effort, so no need to switch to a lower gear). I mean I can try the manual mode, but I'd like to keep gear changing automatic if possible. I have Smart Fortwo year model 2013. Thank you for responses! :)

Fun fact: here in Australia, where we also drive on the left, the indicators on most cars are on the right. It's mainly weird European cars (like VWs) that don't. We do import a lot of cars from Japan, so that could be part of it.

For all the effort and cost involved in importing your car, I would have chosen a Celsior, or a Honda Accord, but a Kei car is certainly unusual. They are, however, fantastic vehicles. I’d consider something bigger if I was bringing a van to Canada. Probably an excellent vehicle for the UK. Especially due to the cost of petrol and those harrow country back roads. Glad you finally got it home.

Thanks. As you would know, the Tanto was a very deliberate decision. I also seem to gravitate more to smaller vehicles although I have owned larger; Honda Legend, Volvo S70 and a motorhome. We definitely have many lanes that using a narrow car is so much better.

Just got my little smart with only 25k miles on it, and since I already drive a manual Solstice I am used to a stick car, so the transition was quite easy, because I knew exactly what the car was doing, in town I prefer to use the manual mode as the car wont "kick down" into a lower gear, and therefore really bogs, with practically no acceleration. @@nigelbryant5932 I have a 450 and 451. Both are extremely reliable. Any car that has had a poor to no service history will likely end up unreliable. The 450 in this video has an engine that to be honest is only good for between 70-90k miles before it would need a rebuild. Something that a Toyota IQ wouldn't need. Brilliant video Paul, watching it has really helped me realise what an amazing mix of vehicles we get, last week we had a Jaguar XJ220, and some pre-war Austins, the most important thing is inclusion, if it's your pride and joy it's ours. I'm impressed that you managed to film everything without distraction, including the bikes. Thank you for your positivity about the venue, it's honestly a privilege to be involved and I'm always blown away by what people bring here. Everything from tractors and trucks and campers to modern retros, Rovers, the 600 is so rare today sadly, and performance cars. If I had to pick a favourite (impossible really) it would be the grey Land Rover @ 16:36 which is one of only 6 made specifically for the BBC, some of them had camera platforms on the roof, but this one's got windows and seats in the back, and was used for sports events coverage and etc. The Renault 18 diesel estate is one of two surviving examples. I love a car with a story and particularly commercial vehicles and we see plenty of random things here at Fillongley. Appreciated. See you soon.
