Hi, I have a question! How many isopods / springtails do you put in a 12x12x8 enclosure?
@RealPangeaReptileСағат бұрын
Springtails typically come in cultures with hundreds of individuals, so one culture works well. 20 isopods is typically a good starting point, though if your animal is particularly ravenous, you may want to add more in case they get eaten.

Can crested geckos Live without bugs in their diet ?
@RealPangeaReptile3 күн бұрын
They can as long as they receive a consistent supply of a complete gecko diet like Pangea. However, we would recommend offering live insects as they receive a lot of enrichment from hunting!

@RealPangeaReptile3 күн бұрын
We can ship worldwide, but international customers will have to coordinate with a third party exporter before purchasing a gecko. You can talk to our customer service team at [email protected] for more details!

We can ship most of our products to India, though international shipping can be pretty pricy. Unfortunately, we don't have an Indian distributor yet so there won't be local retailers for our products.

You don’t need live plants for a bioactive setup. Get a bunch of plastic plants and put a bunch of springtails in the soil. You don’t have to worry about lighting. Live plants don’t shit. Let the springtails do all the work. You can easily have artificial plants in a bioactive setup. The only real thing that makes a difference is the springtails. Live plants don’t contribute at all do the efficiency of the setup. Every setup with soil should have springtails. They eliminate any cleanup of poop that you will ever have to do.

Should I take my gecko out of the cage when I mist it?
@RealPangeaReptile20 күн бұрын
Nope! Misting your gecko's enclosure with it inside won't cause any issues! You can even mist your gecko directly, though, this can annoy them, so we wouldn't recommend doing it on purpose outside of specific circumstances.

Since she pre planned on twitter it’s fair to say when I had her clean up the mercury light that broke because I was to worried about contamination she purposely gave me something contained with asbestos as a gift. There was no lead but there was asbestos according to a report if it’s broken the filter which I stoped using after wearing it once. However even if there was lead it wouldn’t chip off. You would need to peel it with a tool to get it, and even if that somehow magically happens lead poising is accumulative meaning it would have to build over time to have effect which you only wear to Halloween and clas once. You wouldn’t have a hard on with lead posining but clever cunt to give asbestos possible contamination if broken as a gift. Now that we debunked that we can learn how they plan everything.

First time owner of a gecko. But he’s not eating. He’s an adult. And it’s been 3 days since I got him but I don’t think he’s eaten once. Today being day 3.
@RealPangeaReptile24 күн бұрын
Don't worry! It's very common for crested geckos to avoid eating for the first couple of weeks in their new home since they don't feel entirely safe yet. Avoid handling for a bit so he can settle in, and continue offering food, and he'll eat when he's ready!

Hi I have a question, can you use a cleanup crew (isopods,springtails) in a artificial plant terrarium for tree frogs? Any tips if so, thank you
@RealPangeaReptile24 күн бұрын
You can, but you will want to make sure you provide plenty of leaf litter, and fresh veggies for them to eat, as there won't be any fresh litter from the plants to provide extra nutrients.

@cisarvialpando7412Ай бұрын
You only said about UV A and UV B ...what about UV C lamp ??
@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
That's a great question! High levels of UV-C light are actually harmful for most animals, and is a known carcinogen in humans. In fact, commercial UV-C lamps are actually used for sterilization purposes, killing off microorganisms exposed to the light. In nature, most of this light is filtered out by our atmosphere, so reptiles don't get exposed to much anyways. As such, we do not recommend providing UV-C lamps for your reptiles.

@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
Keep you portions consistent when you feed him, and monitor how much he eats. Flavors he doesn't like will be eaten less, or not at all, while flavors he likes more will have much cleaner dishes! If he eats all the flavors readily, then you've got a gecko who's not picky!

Question: Is the growth and breeding formula a full diet or a supplementary diet?
@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
That's a great question! It is a complete diet, as it fulfills all of the nutritional requirements of crested geckos. It also has high protein and fat content to encourage growth and juveniles, and maintain weight in breeding geckos. Additionally, it has the maximum calcium levels to promote healthy eggs. Many keepers and breeders will use it a a primary food source throughout their gecko's life, however if you decide to take this approach, we would recommend monitoring your gecko's weight to ensure it does not become overweight.

Can i put isopods in a nobe bioactive tank?

You can put isopods in a non-bioactive tank but you will need to provide plenty of leaf litter and food for them to hide under and eat.

Should I use a halogen flood light for a Brazilian rainbow boa?
@luyandalamula9009Ай бұрын
I am trying to find a suitable heat source for my 2 month old brazilian rainbow boa. Would a DHP and a UVB light be sufficient? Shes in a 120cm (l) x 48cm (w) x 50cm (h) PVC enclosure
@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
We'd recommend checking out Reptifiles' care sheet for Rainbow Boas: reptifiles.com/brazilian-rainbow-boa-care-sheet/ She recommends a cluster of 50W halogen bulbs, though depending on your house's ambient temperature, you may need higher.

@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
You can use DHPs for both! 50-75 W should work well depending on the ambient temperature of your house. Of course, we also recommend using a thermostat alongside the DHPs to prevent them from reaching temperatures that are too high.

question..my gecko loves panjea..lately she's been nor going to her feeder ledge to eat but does eat at a bottom cup. so I moved her ledge furh e r down glass so it's lower ...is that alright I have a rock n plant for access to it
@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
Some geckos have preferences for where they'd like to eat. It's possible the bottom cup is more hidden, and she feels safer eating there. But, as long as she is eating, it doesn't matter where the cup is, and it is totally fine for it to be on the bottom of the enclosure!

my question is why are we breeding geckos primarily for colors rather than temprament? isn't that the usual domestication route?
@RealPangeaReptileАй бұрын
Temperaments vary wildly between geckos, even ones from the same parents. As such, there aren't any known temperament related traits we can select for. Therefore, breeders select for color, pattern, and physical structure as these are understood traits we can make informed decisions with.
