Our daughter worked at Coach for years, in college and afterwards. Coach leather, fasteners, zippers, workmanship are echelons above MK, Kate Spade, and others. There were two kinds of customer who came in the store. One wanted understated quality, and the other wanted everyone to know they owned Coach. What they bought reflected those sensibilities.

I bought coach bags in the 1980/90. When there was not much change in design I moved away from coach but recently bought a beautiful new coach bag in a consignment store. I was so impressed that I went to a coach store and bought another bag for my daughter as Christmas gift, wallet and card holder for myself. Planning to buy more. I still have my old coach bags. Recently got those out of the basement. Maybe I can trade them in or just use them. They’re still in excellent condition. Soft leather.

Tbh all brands needs to stop relying on the Chinese market. That’s their main problem and it’s like an addiction for these brands.

Omg I was wondering what this place was - there's a storefront, and it had all these lines of people waiting to get in. But it looked like Old Navy 😂 and beige. Thanks for this!

Why does this post is a propaganda? Hahaha. Coach from a bag lover's perspective has very mediocre design. Bought a bag from them this black friday, didnt totally liked the quality of the bag, nor their was many options for designs. But, for the price I paid for, I think still worth it. 1 coach bag is enough. No need to buy a lot of bags from them.

My mom got a large Coach mailbag in 1977. I think she paid about $200-300 for it. That’s $1,000-1,500 today. It was thick oxblood colored baseball grade leather with solid brass buckles. Years later she spilled mimeograph ink on one side in a perfect circle, so she gave it to me. I carried my books and stuff for school in it from middle school through college and didn’t think anything of it. No one knew it was a Coach bag because Coach wasn’t “branded/logoed” back then. To me it was just “mom’s old stained bag”. In the late 80’s-90’s my cousin worked for Sara Lee and she got us Coach, at cost, whenever we wanted. I loved it but the leather wasn’t the same. I’ve given away or sold my “Sara Lee” Coach bags but I still have my mom’s mailbag scratches, ink stain and all. Today, I don’t buy Coach bags but I love their jewelry, shoes and accessories. Thanks for the memories.

I looked into my local Burberry - they had a heavily branded (too much) plastic ski jacket for £700, made in Vietnam. The Filipina sales assistant was completely clueless about the brand history or the composition of any of the products. I would like to blame management for lack of training, but she thought London was in Spain. How can such people interact with their customers? I made my excuses and left!

If there’s alternatives in the market (and there’s LOTS), and the brand can survive on its own because the public continues to support it, I don’t see anything wrong with it. The loss of shame and judgement has led us to where we are now. Watched the documentary and a lot of the stuff in it was overblown. Brands, stores, and companies are allowed to create standards, if they’re not breaking any laws. And it seems Brandy Melville never broke any.

seriously let the free market do its thing. should hermes lower its accessibility so it could be affordable to 99% of us? no, it wouldn't be aspirational. can't stand the toxic acceptance of today

Michael Kors to me is like when you want to break free from the scrutiny of the luxurious brand but still being elegant and classy. It's American brand, it's all about exercising your freedom. Freedom is personal, and elegant and classy is my personal luxury.

I saved up money for a few months to buy a ZP, but it got scratched on the third day. I cried so much, and then my boyfriend bought me a bag from kislux for me to carry alternately. Anyway, there are so many bags on the street, so as long as others can't see it, I think it's fine. The thought is there.

My personal opinion, which is not based on any studying whatsoever is that when Michael Kors started making more accessible products they were cheaper looking they did not have any design creativity. The fact that it’s mentioned that he was copying other people‘s designs seemed obvious to me and I’m just a regular common person. The leather always look like plastic to me super shiny and has a regular person who wants to be careful about what she’s spending her money on, I’d rather just go get decent quality leather then to hop on the Michael Kors trend..
