Those are phony. 1965 Northern California. Avery's sporting play sulfur and hardware store had the original M1 carbines they were selling for $50.60 80 at the most. And you could tell by the stocks they were original. And those are not. I own one. I bought a 67 Surplus stores I'm going to buy a 3 03 Mausers for $15 62 and 63. And they had the scars to prove Battle Scars on the rifles to prove it. They didn't have no birthday party stocks.

As a battle rifle, shooting long range at cover and armor maybe it is lower powered than .30-06. However as a defensive cartridge it should be very good. Full .357 magnum from a handgun is recognized as being very effective and from a rifle length barrel the .357 magnum achieves much better velocity and energy however .30 carbine still beats in in any way. Fairly recently the new hotness was the .30 super carry and all the youtubers were promoting it. Well it uses a lighter projectile than the .30 carbine and less than 1/3 the muzzle energy. If .30 super carry is/was being promoted as acceptable then .30 carbine with over 3 times the energy should be promoted as exceptional. Oh and what about a comparison with .223? .30 carbine has muzzle energy of 970 ft-lb. The standard 55 grain .223 from 20" barrel has muzzle energy of 1200 ft-lb at about 3200fps however all the tactical youtubers use 10" to 14" barrels which really reduces the velocity and the muzzle energy. The velocity of the 55 grain .223 would drop below 3000fps with a 14" barrel for energy of about 1050 and would be almost the same as the .30 carbine. Velocity would be closer to 2500fps with a 10" barrel and energy would be about 710, significantly below the .30 carbine. All the people with the 10" barrels think they are perfectly good for power but their power is actually way below the .30 carbine that they think is underpowered.

I bought a brand new m9, put a langdon tactical trigger and spring upgrade kit, wilson combat hammer, threaded barrel and compensator. Carried one in service. Always wanted to mod one. Runs like a scalded dog. 👌

The problem with 410 isnt the cartridge itself. Its the firearms, like "The Judge". Short pistol barrels are worthless for 410 shells.

I double checked the cold A3 HR tactical carbine, are chrome lined barrels, unless it was a special order or some of the civilian versions came with non-chrome barrels. The tactical did take a close look. I did on both of mine.

They are the OGs so nice rifles but that isn’t to say it’s sad that Colt won’t be the company that Samuel would be proud of. According to Small Arms Solutions the company was an evil place to work at in the early mid 2010s. I’ve worked at companies that didn’t operate cohesively and it destroys the company. I’m hoping CZ does something special with the Colt brand. Sooo much potential
