i like how you present this annoying issue with a big smile on your face 😄 I've used both 24g and 36g road tubes and never had this issue. just the problem of easily puncturing from the smallest of thorns
@ZavyalovCycling4 күн бұрын
Hi! As I’ve mentioned earlier, none of my road RN tubes has been affected by this issue either. Even after a year of use. But all of MTB ones have failed exactly this way 🤪 Lottery!

I had a complete failure in the free-hub body of my 12sp SLX - lasted 2500+ miles, I went SLX after my XT 12sp failed. Replaced 12sp xt derailler and shifters too way too early too, SRAM 12sp NX is even better

Becarefull with cycling items from Aliexpress. I bought a suspension seatpost in april 2024. In august, after only four month, the seatpost tube had a complete breakdown. Garanty was only 15 days and it was almost shurely a fake.
@pastori7012 күн бұрын
How about this crazy idea. If one has creaking XT hub with worn out teeth… If we use strong glue to merge freehub body into the hub? Then there’s nothing moving, thus no creaking. Then just ride and when bearings get worn out, ditch the whole thing.

Please tell me if the black spacer is better? Just got M8110 and I’m worried it will start creaking! I have to open it to see if there is grease and if the spacer is black.
@ZavyalovCycling15 күн бұрын
Sorry to disappoint, but M8110 will inevitably start creaking! Another spacer, grease, regular service - this all postpones the creaking point, but doesn’t solve the faulty design of this hub.
@pastori7015 күн бұрын
@@ZavyalovCycling Thanks. How many kilometres can you drive until service is needed? I need to buy replacement spacers and Shimano grease so I’m ready when the creak happens! How about just cutting the teeth off from the spacer? Would that make the hub break easier?
@pastori7015 күн бұрын
@@ZavyalovCycling I’m planning to service the hub after every 1000km. I wonder why Shimano decided to use some PLASTIC part in a first place in their hub… Or was it just a faulty design and plastic spacer was a quick solution for the problem?

When these Tubolito's came on the market a few years ago I bought a pair to ride MTB on the Canary islands and it costed me a small fortune. So on the island I installed the Tubo's (and i know what I'm doing. First ride: gravel, rocks modest climb and decent. WITHIN 20 minutes the back Tubolito gave up. No punctures but just torned. And that for 40 euro's Per Tubo. It was a complete disaster. Even thin ultralight butyl tubes lasted on the same trails for more than two days 'till they completely exploded. Shure I got my money back for the pair after complaining about the lies in the advertisement. (2,5 times stronger than butyl) . Note: At that time Schwalbe had taken their version of these type of tube of the market and for a reason. Pffff this was just a complete disaster. Now after a few years the Chinese versions are cheap and I will try those and see if they will hold but Tubolito's I say it was just a scam at that time. (to early on the market ? )

I have Schwalbe TPU tubes that are also leaking. I found in another article that it might be the plastic valve that might be causing the pressure loss. I'm probably switching back to butyl. It's very annoying.

Same thing happened to me, Continental 5000 700 x 28 clincher road tyres first time out. Probably glass or road metal cut into side of tyre fixed with inner patch, cleaned outer small tear and roughened surface. Sealed down with Loctite 406 Adessive, put finger pressure on damage via a tissue, marked wheel rim with a small spot of permanent marker ink to keep an eye on repair. Tissue wears off on first ride, all good. Saved replacing tyre at NZ$100.00

Good video but that is a digital caliper [not a vernier]. A vernier caliper requires carefully aligning two lines on 2 scales and counting lines to estimate your measurement. A vernier scale is based on logarithmic distances. Sorry but I find the liberal use of the term vervier verses dial calipers and digital calipers to be irritating! Your point is the the science of measurement can be desceptive!

@mikeh6286Ай бұрын
Great video. Never throw a chain out based on the chain checker alone. Here's another tip. If you use a quicklink. Check chain wear over the link and compare. Sometimes these links are poorly made and they wear an oval hole in the links it's attached to = local wear. A chain can be below 0.5% everywhere except at the link and still damage your drivetrain. Buy proper quicklinks.

Hallo, gutes Video.

Your approach is clearly a couple steps forward 🤘 How many kilometers do your chains reach with it before hitting 0.5% wear mark?
@andreasb.7923Ай бұрын
Über die endgültige Lebensdauer der Kette kann ich noch keine Angabe machen, da ich die Zwei Töpfe noch nicht so lange nutze. Aber aktuell ist die Kette 2600 Km alt und hat keinen Verschleiß.
