The main thing is to make sure you polish is comparable with your polish. Some polishes are for LED lights and others for UV lights. Also peeling polish is caused by lots of other issues. I have another video on why nails don’t last if you’re curious :)

You can always paint a fake white tip, it can go a little on your nail bed and still look natural. Other than that I would just do solid colors :)

Thanks a bunch for this video, I’ve been struggling with my nails for so long. I’ve soaked them in acetone but no success. Now I know I have to use 100% 💯 acetone and not just a polish remover

You’re welcome!! Yes use 100% acetone but I wouldn’t recommend soaking. It’s pretty strong and putting your skin in it for so long does not seem good!

Helpful hint, polish off top coat and soak in warm water. They will Peel right off in 10 min!!! No damage no excessive dehydration

Interesting, technically this shouldn’t happen otherwise taking baths or going in a hot tub would degrade the integrity of your polish in general. Depends how well your polish is adhered to your nail plate. Also peeling off polish will remove a nail of your nail (thin but still a layer)

So many confused ladies, so here’s my advice: there’s HARD gel and SOFT gel. HARD gel needs file to remove. SOFT gel can be soaked off. So, if you tried to soak off but it didn’t work, chances are big that your salon used hard gel. It’s an add-on sale for them to have them remove your gel 😉

If you’re polish is peeling off you need to to prep your natural nail better, it’s usually oils or dirt still on the nail or painting too close to the skin/cuticle that causes lifting and peeling. I personally don’t use a bonding polish (not familiar with this).

I use the revlon base coat and top coat and the black color was from a kit on Amazon that is linked in my description. I would recommend trying brands that are HEMA free to avoid exposure to too many chemicals.

I'm new to gel nail polish. I tried the nail clips and found them to be a hassle. I'll try the nail foils or tin foil. The metal cuticle pusher seemed to harsh so i bought some wooden sticks to try. Thanks for the video 🎉

If you have room then seal them other wise wait until your next application when your nails are slightly longer. The gel will help them grow with out breaking

I would recommend before applying acetone use a balm to lather all around your nail. I use lanolips 101 ointment or burrs bees cuticle balm AND also apply cuticle oil to the underneath of your nail. This will prevent dehydration from the acetone on your natural nail

1. cuticule oil (wipe off with acetone) 2. gel primer (basically dehydrator; viscose liquid) 3. base coat (from the top drag down the tip); feels sticky, don't touch it [cure] 4. colour coat (from the top drag down); 2 coats if needed [cure after each layer] - second coat trick: start at the top, drag down, at the end build extra ”layer” near the edge of your nail (dab it on) 5. top coat (swipe across the tip too) [cure]

You know what, this actually seems super intuitive. I recently had acrylic nails French tip and when I got home it bothered me so much that the free edge wasn’t painted white too. I do 60 seconds each time. You might have a top coat that needs to be wiped with alcohol. There are no wipe topcoat’s these days but some brands still sell a top coat that stays sticky until you wipe. That’s probably the issue! I have some gel polishes linked in my description if you want to try a no wipe one :)
