@Audiokeller- The best sounding full range speaker setup i ever had was with a pair of 2 way Alpine Reference 6 x 9s. They had silk tweeters, kraft pulp paper cones, & butyl rubber surrounds, powered by Alpine 3548 amplifiers. I had the 7618 (same deck as MC Hammer had in his AMG) Alpines top of the line tape deck that had the Haltech lll (Tape Head), with Dolby B, & C noise reduction( Dolby B gave a -10Db noise reduction, but also reduced the musical high freq., but the Dolby C noise reduction reduced the background noise only, & by -20Db, while still letting ALL of the high freq. through, i have never heard a better sounding setup, when playing a digilog tape), this pull out Head unit was also a CD changer controller, that had a scrolling LED lighted billboard screen. I had an Alpine remote mounted Digital Eq, with a detachable LED lighted/Flashing variable changing light display, that moved along with the music! I also had a pair of the 800 Watt peak/400 watt R.M.S. Alpine 15" 6015s (performed great in 1.4 cu. Ft. Net per 15"), i had a Bridged Alpine 3548 per 15", this setup was the Best sq.! Great video.

@Solargeek2 күн бұрын
@audiokeller1975 The 3554 recently burned a output transistor, or mosfet, or fet, and a gate resistor, I think, Im no technician. It is still functional but one channel is out obviously. The 3552 is fully functional but the 12v positive terminal burned the plastic around it. I opened it up and found a broken solder joint where the + terminal interfaces with the board. I refloated that joint, and then decided to do all of the joints. Works flawlessly now. If I had a detailed schematic for the 3554 I would try to repair it. I suffer from mild red/green color blindness and sometimes can't discern which resistor value to use so a parts list and schematic would really help out. Neither are in use at the moment but I do plan on installing the 3552 in my 1997 Jeep Cherokee to power mids and highs for the front stage. I was going to use the 3554 for the rear stager, both in two channel mode @ 4ohms. Now I don't know what I'll do.

Congratulations my friend, very nice amplifier! I have owned some older Orion amps and subs, I currently have a HCCA subwoofer, it is insane, 12" but when next to a Alpine Type R 12" it makes the Type R look like a tiny 8" or something, it's hilarious! 27.8KG, and it isn't even the top-of-the-range SPL model! I was running a 8000w rms amp on it alone at 1 point, it is a remarkable, astonishing thing. I also have a HCCA 4 ch, it is a newer model, class H, it has 4 channels that can do 750w rms per channel, it now runs that subwoofer, giving me 3000w rms of class AB goodness with 2 BTL channels per coil, but the sub can take even more! What is great about the amp is that I can't even tell the amp has any sign of rolloff even well below 20hz, I would need to a actually measure it because I can't hear it, unlike basically all class D amps and their cheaply and poorly designed filter networks. Orion is a king of a brand! Looking forward to your next video!! =)

Pretty sure the designer of these amps was at least partially responsible for designing the punch 45 and punch 75 amps. The mtx thunder amps were solid designs and tested consistently by all the car audio mags. Most importantly, MTX rated these amps correctly at about 20% below actual power across the model range. The thunder 2300 was a great subwoofer amp back in the 90s. I still consider picking one up even though I’ve got a solid 1400 watt Rockford amp 1000.1bd on my subs right now.
