Not always true. Sometimes life gets in the way. "Hanging out together" versus life and responsibilities... problems requiring working extra, taking care of sick friends or family, taking care of oneself, particularly after having ignored your own needs... the list goes on.

It's been a bit more than a while, sadly.. 😂

Agreed . . . The key to a healthy relationship is meeting the person that compliments the life you have built. If you have yet to find that. It's okay to foucus on yourself for some time and recharge yourself emotionaly.

When you said be open to experience a relationship I remembered a thing I heard from my therapist years ago, which is when you get into a relationship you share a part of your with another person but sometimes people don’t really understand themselves, so they have no real understanding of what they are presenting to their partners. So I think once you really get to know yourself is really the moment you’ll be open and ready to receive a relationship.

I disagree. Life can get overwhelming and over-busy. It happens to a lot of people with a passion in what they do. Now, as someone who becomes that busy I have learned being so all the time is also not that healthy. We need our self-care too and that includes relationships with others. I live with dementia, am a heavy national & global advocate for those living with dementia and their caregivers. I also have a strong spiritual life. But I am learning to pull back and carve out time for doing nothing or just self-care.

Yes, I agree. I would offer the caviot that sometimes life happens. As long as they don't do this consistently and don't cancel at the last minute, I'd be willing to allow a little grace once (maybe twice). But, after that . . . Thanks, but no thanks.

This is also true for anybody who was or has been heavily insecure in their life and have overcome it. They may have always been good looking but never had the confidence to roll with it if that makes any sense

Jaks, I am assuming that there is a tacit caveat here re enjoying life. Namely, a person suffering chronic or increasing pain from cancer or some other debilitating illness. Life is not very enjoyable under those circumstances 🌈❤️. I agree it is very likely our neurotic concerns over many things will not matter after much less than 100 years. In fact they will not matter to ant person terminally ill either. Herm
