i dont get why in some questions we go straight to solving simultaneously and some we combine the equations? when do we know when to do it simultaneously or the other

Simplify x²-3×-10>0=²=(×+5)(×+2)=10×>0 on the geometric pattern which is a positive parabola

Everyone else talked about doing an iteration in reverse but I didn't do this? I just formulated the equations that were currently in the table, then used substitution to modify them into equations that each only had a single one of S1, S2, and S3, from which you can just make them inequalities. Maybe this is what other people meant by saying they were doing "simplex in reverse"? I'm not sure, I never really think about it in terms of the equations while I'm doing the processes, so it felt like something distinctly new rather than just backwards.

@@BicenMaths Thank you! Currently investing all my efforts into locking down mechanics as I am hopelessly bad at geometry. Definitely the most looking forward to FP2, but if they let me choose the order I'll probably do D2 first as there's more to forget throughout the day! Good luck to you too as well, what's your preference? Will you be able to choose the order, and if so how will yoo decide?

@@Zoh_My_Gosh FM2 is probably my most comfortable as I have taught and thought about mechanics a lot - but I know it could still give me a hard time with a tricky question! D2 has quickly become a favourite module of mine, just a shame that you need D1 to be able to do it! If I can pick the order, I'm going to also start with D2 to get that out that way (a lot of steps/things to do so want full energy), then do FP2 (I love this module but also know it can have some challenging curve ball questions), then FM2 (I know it well!) and finish with FS2 (as I find FS2 doesn't have much writing/maths, it's mostly a quick calculation and then a comparison to a table!). Good luck! I wonder how many people in the country are doing the same thing as us? I'd love to know!

Seb I know this question is off topic to the video but I am wanting to study Engineering at University and have been taking a peek in the FM2 module which has peaked my interest recently despite me not studying this. I just wanted to ask if I did study FM2 before my first year of uni would it benefit me?

I'm sure it would give you a great run-in to your first year at university - absolutely no obligation, I'm sure, but it would give you some broader concepts about centres of mass and dynamics that will no doubt be helpful!

That was so shit. Chem was meh too. What a day to end exams! 🎉😍 but I’m finally free! Guys don’t stress too much. Someone gave me such a good talk. Exams are over. Don’t dwell on what you could’ve done or what you didn’t do well. We’re worked incredibly hard to get to where we are. Have a good summer. I screwed up with timing in this exam as well, but you know what at least A-levels are over for us now. Bicen, I just wanted to give a massive thank you for doing videos for Decision 1 all of those months ago. My school barely taught us the content of Decision 1 and I kept getting Us in mocks (quite frankly because I was more focused on doing core pure well!). Watching your videos for the past few weeks helped me understand these concepts so much better, and you genuinely helped me do even better in the real thing than I would have imagined. Good luck with the other FM exams on Monday!!
