Hi . If I'm going to be taking a flh on my part 3 test who hasn't driven for 5 years. And they are saying they want to build there confidence and be a safe driver including not checking there mirrors as much. Can you tell me what will be a suitable area to take them in that 45mins?. I really appreciate your help.

Im a strong advocate for good solid briefs (and this was a good chat) This is the kind of thing i do daily. I feel many new pdis dont know this or even get told to do this. Am i wrong?

Looking at the comments and reading the ones that’s said they would have said they would have said the her to slow down on the approach because she was to fast. I think her speed was fine, approaching the roundabout the visibility to the right is blind but her speed was fine. As soon as the van arrived at the roundabout she was possibly only 3 car lengths away from the give way line and if you had duals you would have brought the car to a comfortable stop. However she didn’t respond to wait, wait, wait and you had to take control which was executed extremely well, the only thing I would have done differently would have been to use the word stop.

Loving this series. Some great learning points. Do you always teach to avoid touching the mini roundabouts when going over/around unless it is not possible do you feel clipping them is ok with your right wheels? TIA Sorry also what presenter do you use on your iPad 😀

Shouldn't the PDI be straight to the point instead of playing guessing games? Like he said "Howard, what do you think of this roundabout " whereas he should have said what the learner did like " Howard, you cut lanes in the roundabout " and ask further questions from there

Straight forward, really; I overplanned on first attempt and was too frozen to adapt early on. Useful video 👍🏼

Same, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Also, say the topic is junctions for a FLH, who hasn’t driven since they passed. but they make a mistake during a meeting situation. Does that have to be fixed as well or only identify and fix faults related to the theme of the lesson?
@furky56
@furky56 5 күн бұрын
@mukit194 it will need to be identified and fixed straight away. In this situation you need tk adapt the lesson and work on that fault and figure out why the FLH did the fault specifcally and work on that before moving on to the original lesson plan

@11:07 when you say you moved into the right hand lane based off of the information given (as most drivers would do). was a lovely personal add on for even experienced drivers. I'm currently studying for my part 3 and it is nice to be reminded that its ok to not get it right all the time. as someone who is overly self critical this has helped me a lot. thank you! and the rest of the video on route directions is brilliant!

Excellent video, clear instructions and advice. Quick question if I may, I'm getting conflicting answers... question is - when joining a motorway from a slip road, once you get appropriate speed and see a gap in the first lane, should you physically glance over your right shoulder or is looking at the wing mirror sufficient?
