By the way folks to get the very best performance out of your gh5/gh5s....you definitely need the most appropriate memory cards.....the Sony TOUGH V90 cards and the Panasonic V90 cards are brilliant for professional use...Both cards have high write/read speeds which if shooting in 4k for lengths of time you will need these better cards....sansdisk lower version cards just won't cut it on 4k for long records....this is real practical professional advice. ...naturally if you have atomos monitors you may record in the monitor too if you own one...just saying....If you live in the uk you can sometimes find used ones on MPB (brilliant used professional camera and kit site )...hope this helps you all....

@elishachua626329 күн бұрын
I think this is such an exaggeration, not all devices that get posted here on yt get higher prices. Especially if it's these kinds of devices that are missing a lot of features/ specs that are available in newer devices. E-PL2 is just too "handicapped" to even get higher prices, because of the outdated 12mp sensor (compared to the 16mp and even 20mp in newer Olympus/ OM System cameras), only fixed screen, very limited video capabilities, no live composite mode, to name a few. Not even the original Olympus EM-5 or EM-10 are getting jacked up prices because these have their newer iterations, it would make sense for the newer ones to get higher prices first, and also, there's just a lot of these camera models in circulation today that it doesn't make sense at all to jack up prices. Maybe if it's something like the Pen F, which is significantly harder to find than other Olympus cameras, it makes way more sense for that to be expensive, just like the Fujifilm X100 models. I myself am planning to buy either an Olympus EM5 or EM10 in December, I'm still saving up l, I've actually been holding out since last year, but the prices never seem to go up, in fact, I see one seller of the EM-5 even lower the price since I first saw it online. So yeah, it depends, but this E-PL2 ain't it.

Hi alex, Thanks for your interesting video. I learned a lot from it. But I have a question if i may: After ordering and returning a GX9 at mpb with a very sturdy( hard to move) dedicated exposure compensation dial, i bought , again at mpb the gx80/85. Now i'm a little worried about the freely moving sensor. Let me explain: when i turn off the camera and remove the lens i can see the sensor move freely and bouncing agains the side of the frame around the sensor. Is this normal? If it isn't i'll have to return it once more! Thanks for your advice. Have a nice day. Kind regards! Herman

My main 3 lenses are the Olympus 25 and 45 1.2 primes and the Panasonic 15mm 1.7 prime. The Olympus lenses are quite huge for MFT but it's ok for me, as I like the shallow depth of field and low light possibilities. I wish I had not bought the Olympus 7-14 2.8. as it's just big and heavy and the kind of lens that never gets used much. I wish I had bought a laowa wide angle as the small size would have ment i would bring it instead of the huge Olympus that just sits on the shelf most of the time .
@justalexhimself3 ай бұрын
Interesting for me to read your thoughts. Thank you for sharing :) I agree that the main advantage of MFT is to save space and weight when it comes to lenses specifically. So yes, agree with you regarding the 7 - 14 and the Laowa.

Hi Alex. It is August 2024 and as a counterpoint to my beloved...Nikon D700 (who my other beloved isn't jealous of in the slightest, ha,ha,ha), I recently got the GX85 (an import from the states that makes it sound fancy like imported vinyl). Regarding your processing power question. I think it has something to do with the video compression style being HEVC OR H.264 depending on your video editing software. Newer editing software does better on HEVC but older software does better on H.264. I am NOT a expert but trying to figure this out as well!

Hey thanks for posting this video. I’m considering this light, how do I know what kind of umbrella to get for it? Are they universal?
@justalexhimself3 ай бұрын
There are a few different types actually. Have a look at "Godox" KZbin channel. They have many great tutorials on the topic of umbrellas, lights and reflectors and what each one can do. As far as umbrellas go: there are reflective umbrellas and plain white umbrellas. Each are a bit different with how much "spill" of light you will have.
@LeoMastroTV3 ай бұрын
Honestly, better music and not saying those cheesy sentences that have been said a billion times on KZbin in every „cinematic tutorial“ video would’ve made these shots actually feel cinematic. I was waiting for the cinematic shots for 90% of the video until I realised that you aren’t showing yourself travelling there with standard KZbin blog shots, you’re actually showing the cinematic shots. Music and sound is just as important if not more important than the video itself. This is the perfect example of why that’s the case. Everything in the film is selling an idea and this one is selling „I’m a cheesy KZbin video“ vibes to me. These aren’t bad shots but the KZbin library hacksmithesque/kingofrandom like rock music and dialog is completely changing the message behind it.

P.S. Did you adjust the shutter speed range or just leave it at the default (1/60 - 1/8000)? Also, I just noticed your question at the end about processing power. 4K footage is gonna be more power hungry when doing editing, but I did hear that the codecs matter. I think by default this camera is set to HVEC, which I've heard needs a really beefy PC when editing. I changed mine to H.264. That's all I can think of at the moment.

What's the difference between a higher and lower fps? Thx😊
@justalexhimself3 ай бұрын
the higher the FPS the more frames you have captured every second. Standard fps is: 24 or 25 (depends if you're in europe or usa) or sometimes it's 30 fps. With more frames, you can slow down the footage more. So 60fps you can slow down the footage x2, 120fps you can slow down x4 etc. But a higher frame rate also requires MORE light and more storage space on memory cards (as well as high speed memory cards).
@imboredDB3 ай бұрын
@@justalexhimself Thank you!
@TheASSedoTV3 ай бұрын
Also, 24 or 25 fps is more like “traditional cinematography” that gives you more natural motion blur, which is acceptable well by a human eye. And it’s used for filmmaking. The higher fps is the more detailed the picture will be when camera moves, but that might look quite unnatural.
