2.5 hours is so unacceptable considering you said there’s no plot 💀

apparently its a movie for audiences who don’t need a plot, but endless action and fights like in a computer game…..a plot the deserves the name is not really required it seems.

No intention of watching this movie! Completely uneeded and unwanted. Complete ego trip for Scott and a money grab from Paramount

I was also disappointed, I’ve given it 4 stars at the moment but I think I’m slightly in denial. Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington have a far more exciting journey than Paul Mescal’s character. I’m a huge fan of Mescal but I actually don’t think this role was for him, perhaps someone like Aaron Taylor Johnson? As it stands, his ‘rousing’ speeches weren’t that dramatic and he didn’t cut an imposing figure like Crowe did or even Pascal in this film. The action is awesome but like Napoleon, it’s so short! There isn’t enough energy dissipation at the end. Having said that, the direction that the plot does take (spoiler free) I found to be quite exciting. LIGHT SPOILER: The idea of a proper revolt breaking out could have been really cool had the action not been chased outside of the Colosseum.

I also found Pauls performance very lack lustre. He looked the part but had no 'aura' about him in the way Russel Crowe did

Paul Mescal just doesn't have the movie star charisma to be a leading man. And I don't think Aaron Taylor Johnson has it either, tbh.

@@karlelphick4783 Gladiator was an ok movie not in my top 10,Rusell Crowe in Master and Commander: might as well be Maximus of the sea.
