I lost my ds and it was in a small zip up case with all the games inside too so i never replaced it because i lost all the games too if id had the console on its own would probably hav got amother but cause all the games got lost too i just sort of couldnt afford to buy the whole package again i was gutted lol had it in my jacket pocket while riding my motorbike and it fell out i traced my route back to look for it but it was alredy gone sadly :( someome had a lucky day that day lol was about 10 games in there they were so small they all fitted in the case with it even tho it was only designed for the console on its own they sat behind it nicely sad times lol

On the note of Doom, I bet it's gonna happen, at least in the Ti graphing calculator sense (where it's more like Wolf3D instead). I mean, just a short while ago a dude made a port of Doom to support portrait displays so... it's definitely not out of the question that someone else might give it a bash. Considering Doom has been ported to a TI calculator, this thing can definitely run it. As John Carmack said, if it has a processor, it can run Doom.

Back when these were out, I assumed that the Pokemon Mini was a Tamogatchi clone, and passed on it (not that I had spending money at that age). I *really* wish I had one with the Tetris clone.

If you have too much spending money you can buy them these days still. Though Tetris in particular is expensive if you want it boxed and in english. They're at least somewhat less rare in japanese and import shouldn't break bank either.

I had one of these things as a kid and I loved it! My best memory of this however is when I learned about the 11:11 wishing myth and you could set alarms with this device. So had an alarm for both 11:11s which meant in the middle of every night a loud jingle would play for my family to hear.

I still have mine, though only with the mini games and pinball. Me and my father had a lot of fun with it. I wonder if it still works. I always have this weird feeling when I dust off old hardware. Like visiting abandoned warehouse. Still functional, but past it's prime. Holding a lot of history, even if it's on the brink of collapse. Weird.

My nephues (5&8) love the retro stuff. The 8 yearold actually has an SNES, super gameboy and GBA. And they both have digimon, as well as other lcd games and virtual pets. I would love if they re-released the pokemon mini, I would buy them one each for sure!

I've had my Smoochum purple Mini since launch- I got it from the Pokémon Center in New York while on vacation! (not to mention my Groudon edition SP) I still play Zany Cards in doctors' waiting rooms these days, it's a wonderful little handheld with genuinely fun quick games. It's something I really cherish.

I'm extremely impressed by just how good and in depth the Pokemon Mini was. That's so crazy they made such detailed games for such a small little handheld device. Gen 2 of Pokemon was also when I jumped back in full force on the franchise, after my interest started to wane before Gen 2 came out, so this released right in the heat of when I was fully on board again, but I honestly don't remember ever seeing it before. I do remember the Snorlax game in Pokemon Channel though, glad I still own that game so I technically have an emulator for the Mini then

I just had my FunKey S arrive a few days ago after ordering one what feels like a trillion years ago, and despite this Pokemon Mini being small, it looks positively chunky in comparison. Playing Resident Evil 1 on a screen that is legit the size of a postage stamp all while still being totally legible is insane. The future might suck for the most part, but at least I can still buy a novelty super tiny video game system.
