Why wouldn’t you just put a new one in? They cost $20.

Whoa! How long did that last? Your gears & carrier bearings were thrashed in odd ways. Even deep gouges in axle tube. I've been shocked tho by how tough gears can be. May last 30k miles on highway, 100 on trails... my guess. If you ran paint on gears, you could see what I mean w/ google.

It been about 20k and the noise is still gone, my plan is to completely replace the rear axle eventually. This was definitely just a temporary fix

I tried using one of these pullers on a front axle shaft bearing, but theres a lip behind it to compensate the diameter of the cv axle, so the tool cant get behind the bearing. No parts store around me has a bearing tool to fit it. I made a puller myself to fit it, hammered my life away on it, and it's still there. No tool i could come up with has worked on it. Heating doesn't even help.

Adding a oil stabilizer reduces your additive package in your oil, the reason for the engine knock is because of a stablizer.

Looks good. I think you should have gotten rid of that rust or at least put some converter on it. With just primer and Raptor, it’ll probably be a problem again at some point. Nice work overall. Edit: Man, I just noticed that you didn’t wear a respirator. Not a good choice. Please protect yourself better. That stuff is very poisonous.
@franksgarage132 ай бұрын
Not a bad idea. It’s been about 3 years and still holding up great. Prep is the most important for sure.

Hey. I stumbled onto this post and wanted to see if you could tell me how you were able to order this color? I know it was a few years ago but when I contacted TCP they told me they couldn't help me. I provided them with the number on your can. Wondering if maybe I didn't communicate what I needed so they could provide me with the gunmetal pearl color. Thanks!

Thanks for the run through. I have a different problem on my '06 LJ... One of my long-legged sons jammed the driver's seat back so far on the track it won't slide or lift forward. Wish he lived closer so I could give him the tools and have him pull the seat, cuz that is the only way I'm going to be able to get under there and hopefully free it up.🙄

11:51 I changed my calipers before and I used two rubber hoses cut off and placed over the upper and lower jaws of a pair of small needle nose vise grips to pinch the brake line and it doesn't damage the lines at all makes bleeding a little bit easier.

Your hurting the engine at start up with that thick of oil the first number represents the thickness while cold running a 50W in the winter months is NOT a good idea The oil will not be able to make it's way through all the smaller oil ports in the engine as well
