I like the idea of the RX1 a lot and it sounds like the perfect camera on paper. However, used A7Cs getting really affordable killed the RX1's appeal for me, especially with all these third party fullframe pancakey lenses releasing I feel like the RX1 would need to be a lot cheaper for me to consider it, A7C has a viewfinder, better grip, stupid good battery life, flip screen, great AF and the shutter sounds like a silenced pistol, it solves everything you listed as a con for the RX1 and more while being only slightly larger.

It‘s a shame Sony discontinued this model. I use a D800 with a Zeiss Distagon 35mm f2 and look for the same camera with only half of the weight. Unfortunately the RX1 has a dust problem, a bad autofocus and no flip screen and the sucessor a much to high resolution and price for me 😃

Another cool thing about creative profiles, if Im shooting in truly low light and need to push my iso up to 12800, my footage looks WAY nicer than using S-LOG3. I really only shoot SL3 outdoors in daylight

You may have found this out already, but for the RX1r ii they replaced the flash with a viewfinder, added a flip out screen and it had better (phase detect) autofocus. For your camera though, you can actually get an external hotshoe viewfinder.

Just an FYI, Kodak still exists. They license their name to JKImaging who produces these cameras and I think they do a great job. Compare that to Minolta and Vivitar. The companies that once backed those brands are long dead and the names were bought up by Elite Brands which just slaps the brands on any and every e-waste camera coming out of China.

ive used this for sports its perfectly acceptable in the day time but at night you really need to lower the shutter speed bc of the f stop which can result in some motion blur to get decent pictures Also it can have unbelievably awful chromatic aberration on bleachers

The A5 video looks very cheap and synthetic compared to even the A4. The white balance is worse... it starts to look like a gopro which is particularly hideous here, and then there's the completely amateurish looking HDR... Let's hope DJI improves the software, but right now changing my A4 to the A5 would be a downgrade.

Does this happen with all the photos from your current film pack? It could be that the film pack might be damaged.

Yes, expired films will definitely have some inconsistencies. Although I love shooting with expired film sometimes because it adds a unique look but if that's not what you're going for then stay away from expired film. Only buy film that are within the year of manufacturing. I suggest that when you do buy new film and you want to store them for a long time, put them in the fridge. What I normally do is I buy a lot and then I store them and take out a box one night before I plan to shoot to make sure that it's back to room temperature level.

In my opinion the best alternative would be the Sony RX100 marks 2-5A. The mark 1 does not have the flip screen and marks 6+7 are super expensive. I would say the RX100 series is better than the g7x. You just have to tweak the saturation/contrast since Sonys color science is slightly muted compared to Canon. I do like how vintage the pics look on the PixPro though!

Just ordered one of these for my Philippines trip in November! Homegirl is Filipino and getting married on the island of Boracay. I’m bringing this, my Sony a7r3 with a tamron 35mm-150mm, as well as my DJI mini 3 drone. Going to be absolutely epic! Can’t wait to capture some great memories.

Hey! It does decently in low light because the contrast levels aren't too low because if you lower contrast levels, that's when the noise floor/grain starts becoming apparent!

That’s not gonna hold the Komodo man…I got the RS3 pro, lidar, ring grip, float, hydra etc The eco system murders this thing man. Everything I’ve ever gotten from Moza is a pain in the ass and breaks within 6 months Currently I’m having tl contact them again regarding issues with slide pod pro, and was just looking to see if it would be worth it to get this to do the crane/jib stuff with it. It Can this thing track you and does it have a lidar system?

Great video! I want to ask you what type of white balance you use when shooting outdoors. Do you use the AWB or adjust the kelvin properties, or do you manually set the white using the color passport?

Hey, Bobby! For sit down shots, it's going to be the most easy to white balance because it's not gonna change The trickiest one to white balance is when you're out and about and you're vlogging, 90% of the time I put it on 5600K and I only change it once I go indoors which may vary depending on what light bulbs are around, sometimes I even have to go to 3000K just to make sure the colors don't look muddied up. I've had my RX1 from new and the only thing it's missing vs newer cameras is IBIS. You really need to keep in mind pixel blur when hand holding the camera. 24 megapixels is about the practical limit for consistent shots imho.

I never use high tech camera only using my phone, is it good enough to take pic just it is using it's kit lenses comparing to phone? I don't have photography skill just want to take great travel videos and family photo.
