Shooting manual lenses is so much fun. Maybe not for professional use. As the autofocus is modern cameras is very good. But for walking around and having fun with it. It’s great.

i'm wedding videographer, and i using vintage lenses. i prefer using that lens for character and budget friendly of course😅

Wish you would have shown a photo with a dehaze hit on it. I think that could fix both big issues

Is that montage nongraded S-Log or this lens lacks contrast when wide open?

Hey there! I shot in S-Cinetone which makes the image slightly more less contrasty. Based on my tests, you can bring back contrast in post by raising the contrast bar to +25 and crushing the shadows to about -20! But for me, I prefer the less contrasty look, it resembles the images that you can get from the famous Helios 44-2 which has similar contrast levels! Hope this makes sense, lol!

Hey, man! Thanks for your input! One thing I love at shooting in manual focus is that it forces me to think about my composition and what's in the frame because you can't just spam the shutter like how we would with a camera with an AF lens, haha.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's definitely not for everyone. But what I found is that you can bring it back in editing but you can't do the reverse of having a lens with good contrast be less contrasty, so I find this to be very fun and opens up creativity.
