3:03 Aha! The original Toppogi that was betrayed by magic Toppogi, saw that video and was recovered! Genius storytelling really. Toppogi is betrayed by magic Toppogi, who then goes to make his own video that the original Toppogi sees and recovers from watching and is right back in action! But now the question is… What could magic Toppogi be planning next?

There are many tadoku (wide reading) sites with free books that go from pre-JLPT to beyond JLPT 1 reading skill, from very casual to very formal topics/situations. Good for practicing character and vocabulary recognition, and learning more about Japan and the culture itself

Give this guy a lot of credit he's discussing a complex subject like Kanji using the English language. We all know how most Japanese are allergic to the English language, but Toppogi Sensei isn't one of those folks.

I really like your channel. So much fun to listen even if i already know the kanji. One thing i was wondering was if you ever considered mentioning pitch accent when you describe the pronunciations of the words. I say this since some people learning japanese may not know about pitch accent and wont be able to hear it if you dont give any visual. You dont need to focus on it so much since your channel is about kanji. I was just thinking of ways to improve your video. Also when you write sentences i think having japanaese subtitles along with the prouniciation could be useful. I say this since it was kind of hard to see your whiteboard conpared to the subititles you wrote. I

This is interesting as always. I want to supplement that, 切 can go back to the Chinese origins, have other meaning of “close” , so it help to explain 親切。 we also say back stabbing in English mean betraying , exactly the same to 裏切
