Someone please explain why some people think a house mortgage is enough of budget for this kind of movie. Did they think it would become a blockbuster?

The Golden Grain/Fantastic Games is an insane Christmas film and it's fantastic. I believe Passeri had it on his own KZbin.

Why did they need Ben Affleck in the first place? He was just a liability. He never worked at the casino, he was not in on the heist, he had zero expertise. Why go through the trouble of plotting this convoluted long shot plan to deceive him. It makes no sense. Charlize Theron could have just told the truckers she worked there or knew someone who did, handed them the map and they could have gone through with the heist and later they could have offed them somehow. Ben Affleck just does not fit into the picture and jeopardizes the whole heist.

Gotta say I always liked this movie. Acting is great, characters are great, atmosphere is great. However the plot is nonsensical. None of it adds up. The suspension of disbelief and plot holes are endless. Still I can forgive them because I actually think the movie is good. If the plot had been given a smarter rewrite I would rate this film very highly.

This movie is fascinating. It feels like a really long episode of Danger 5. Now that others have pointed out that it's the same director as Plakton... yeah. He had a weird fascination with futuristic, talking bathrooms.

Robert the Bruce always regretted not taking part in a crusade, so after he before he died he decreed that one of his best knights would take his heart to the Holy Land and bury it there. This knight kept the key to the casket that held the Bruce's heart around his neck and the family took the name Lockhart. On the way he picked up a red gem that was said to be a healing talisman and that's the gem that you showed here. Witchcraft, I call it. Forsoothe.

The wide angle courtyard shots look like everything in the foreground is model work using forced perspective to try to fill the space. That might also be why they never move the camera at that location.

For the longest time I thought Groo had cast himself again in the remake. Weirdly, according to the documentary The insufferable Groo, he actually had a casting call and had some very 'elf like' actors on call...but he cast someone who looks exactly like a younger version of himself.

I first found out about this from the Brandon Tenold episode on "Creatures of the Abyss", which was directed by the same guy who did this, who also had a background in makeup effects and... YEAH, you can tell. XD Its.. it's something xD

I knew this had to be directed by a porn director. I mean it's even more porn than a lot of B-movies, which are basically just porn as it is. And the makeup effects make sense too especially with the snake transformation guy.

26:00 Train sets can actually be worth a LOT of money (if in good condition but you would think a person like that took care of them), so pretty stupid of that family not to sell it at least.

I don't know. It's just as respectable to try to further your career as an actor/actress. One isn't more moral than the other imo. Both are respectable decisions. As long as she did what made her the happiest.

The Main room with the gold elephants that they walk past in several shots appears to be a purpose built miniature that they walk past on the outside, while the camera shoots from inside the miniature, which has been placed far away from them in a large room or space. That's why the focus is a little off 'in' the room, and why the shadows inside it aren't diffused correctly. They used a different model, but the same principle, for the room with the high, vaunted ceiling, which is why they always appear to be at the room's outer edge. I mean, it's a cheap way to do a set, but hey, creative in its own right.

You guys are so good that you almost sold me on this being a Good Bad movie, almost. To really stress test your GB or BB standards, review Alvaro Passeri's earlier movie, Plankton (also released as Creatures from the Abyss). It's every bit as weird as The Mummy Theme Park though not entirely in the same ways 1 Reply
