My mother is now 83, and was diagnosed with T1 Diabetes when she was 13. Recently she was FINALLY diagnosed with OCD, which explains SO much of her behavior over the years, her compulsive need to weigh and measure her food, hoarding insulin supplies, and inability to adapt to new instructions from her doctors. OCD can be linked to a lot of the daily routines that a T1 Diabetic needs to perform, but they can become harmful when they get in the way of daily life. Please pay attention to the signs of mental illness and get help as soon as possible.

I have been using the Freestyle Libre 2 now for just over two months and doing four injections every day. Not too sure about using a pump at the moment.

Why don’t you just put in 200 just in case? Surely always better to have more than not enough?

They always talk abt cancer and give funds for cancer. What abt diabetes and all the things people young and old go through living with diabetes. Diabetes is tiresome. Great video ❤

I'm not on omnipod yet but the cgm and pump that I am on I have put on my boob. It don't hurt at all. But I think the omnipod might be a bit to big.

I'm a T1D for 38 years. Diabetes is a lodger who doesn't pay the rent. We are lucky now that there is technology available to make life more comfortable. I remember starting bg tests pre-meters when you had to compare the colour on the test strip with a colour chart on a Visidex bottle. Thank you, Jen for saying things that i thought was just in my mind. One of the best things to have with diabetes is a sense of humour! Without it, diabetes is much harder to cope with. Thank you again! 🙂

Thank you for opening up. I'm a T1D of many donkeys. I've had and have similar weird weeks that defy logic or physics or dextrose tabs. Your personality is very good for presenting diabetes as it really is, without scaring the bejebus out of us. Hope you're well at the moment. 🙂

I am a new omnipod user i was on an tandem pump. My question is how far apart can the pod be from the dexcom? Do they just have to be on the same side of your body?

Hi hopefully you or someone from the community may be able to help me. I am type1 for 40 years. I am struggling with dawn effect. I do high impact exercise 3 times per week with cycle/walking daily. I eat 20g am 50g lunch zero evening. 28units night time at 6pm quick acting to cover carbs and blood sugar. Yes I am on statins 20mg. Any ideas how to reduce highs in the am?

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have had an almost identical experience and as I have only been diagnosed type 1 for a couple of years I blamed myself for the crazy numbers. So good to know that even someone with your experience can still have unexplained crape days or even weeks. Blessings
