Thank you for posting such an honest and open view. As a parent of a 16 year daughter with T1 it is daunting and we worry constantly for her and her future. At 16 she is body conscious, thinking about boys, desperately wanting to be exactly the same as all her friends. You hit the nail on the head that although in itself T1 is invisible the devices she wears (G6 & Tandem) are a very visible reminder of what she is going through. Thanks again for posting, you are all amazingly strong people and we are sooooo proud of her we can't out it into words. Stay safe everyone.

Hi David! Thank you so much for your comments and for taking the time to watch this video, I appreciate it. I can remember/relate to all of the things your daughter is currently feeling. I went through all of those wobbles and although mine were slightly different from the ones my friends were having due to my type 1, I don't think I was going through them alone by any means. It sounds like you're all handling her diabetes with amazing strength while not letting it stop her living her life and really in my opinion that is the key to it not taking over - as well as taking it all one day at a time. She sounds like an incredible credit to you. Sending virtual hugs, take care

I'm a T1D for 38 years. Diabetes is a lodger who doesn't pay the rent. We are lucky now that there is technology available to make life more comfortable. I remember starting bg tests pre-meters when you had to compare the colour on the test strip with a colour chart on a Visidex bottle. Thank you, Jen for saying things that i thought was just in my mind. One of the best things to have with diabetes is a sense of humour! Without it, diabetes is much harder to cope with. Thank you again! 🙂

Jen Jen Jen Jen Jen....oh my goodness. Where do I even begin? I saved this video for a day when I knew I was going to need it - truly a moment that I knew this video would hold my heart and give me strength and oh - for sure it did. You points were perfect and excellent, the fact that the video is 24 minutes is such a satisfying fact, and the hand drawn titles...YES 😍 - but most of all and what makes this video so perfect and just like a virtual hug of understanding and joy is you - your warmth, your sense of humour, the compassion that just oozes out of your every pore. Thank you. Truly. What a fantastic video. Well, well, well done. And again. Thank. YOU! ❤️💙

Haha I would LOVE to say I planned the 24 minutes thing... was worried it was too long but now I'm calling it poetry yehhhhh?! 😘 On a serious note thank you for sticking through it and I'm so pleased that the virtual hug was received as intended. Thank you for being here alongside me and showing me even greater lessons! xx

re: Point 12. You are life saver Jen! I've always buried my head in the sand when it comes to listening to other diabetics, discussing their stories, experiences & insights in fear of hearing the horror stories that I've been avoiding hearing my whole diabetic life. Almost living my life in denial, but since being introduced to your Podcast, you have really my altered my thinking on that whole thing, much more so than any of the doctors or nurses I've met. Delighted to find you on YT now too. You are a guru Jen, I'll certainly give you the credit! Keep it up! I love it :)

I absolutely LOVE this video :) I totally agree with everything you said. And despite it being hard living with diabetes, often more times than not, it taught me sooo much. I am really grateful for the way it made me grow as a person and a human being. And absolutely appreciate all the lessons I've learned till now and will continue to learn.

Brill video. You've always been a voice for diabetes. Love how real you are about this crazy life we live, but always positive too. I don't know anyone with diabetes so it's a life saver having someone out there to relate to. Really appreciate all the work you put into this channel, it makes a huge difference. "We are ninjas" - Jen, 2020 "Pizzzzzzzza" - also Jen, 2020 I think you might be Michaelangelo 😂

Haha wonderful comment as always, thank you! I'm sorry you don't have anyone to talk to IRL, but the diabetes community is definitely a good next best alternative! I really appreciate you for watching and being so encouraging of my silly ninja/pizza/spending far too long drawing captions ways! Sending big hugs x

Hi hopefully you or someone from the community may be able to help me. I am type1 for 40 years. I am struggling with dawn effect. I do high impact exercise 3 times per week with cycle/walking daily. I eat 20g am 50g lunch zero evening. 28units night time at 6pm quick acting to cover carbs and blood sugar. Yes I am on statins 20mg. Any ideas how to reduce highs in the am?
