Ours doesn't seal once it warms up lol . It's just constant annoying

Bravo to you for the correct testing procedure. You know you got power to the S post because the solenoid clicked, and although corrosion right at the stud is hard to exclude it is far more likely the problem is deeper. Even the M post wire was crusty green downstream. As you know drop testing only works if you get current flow, which didn't happen. However if voltage drop on the B wire or ground was the cause, you would have seen a dramatic drop. It's unsatisfying to see no drop at all but even light bulb testing with a substituted load is not well matched to the extreme current draw these devices use. I guess you could have taken a dremel to the tip of the S post for a better reading, but the practicality of having no helper and no easy alligator clip attachment point makes it difficult.

I saw Eric O smash one of those starters with big nasty right in half so he has easier access to the top bolt lol

I don't think I've seen that video lol. If I remember correctly on our f150 it did end up snapping off and I gave me access to the bolt with my welder

Surprisingly our f150 hasn't broken as of recently. It's been going strong. Actually I had to take it to a tire shop because one valve stem cracked and wouldn't hold air 🤣

Battery is too small, and where is the tie down...that thing must be rocking and rolling in there. Should be a group 65 and that thing said 59?

Rusty and crusty. May have been ok with the connections being cleaned, but when you have a new starter there...... I would have done the same, just to make sure theres no call back.

Even worse if it causes the owner to pay for another tow only because I decided to clean the connections instead of replacing the starter.
