Why does the CHP need to rig bids to ensure they get ripped off by a sales rep like we found in our investigation?

These were very popular on the REAR of fire engines and are still used in cities with large fleets that have older engines with low usage and still living its shelf life

CHP Fleet will be accused of rigging bids in upcoming books about corruption in the police equipment market, Flashing Blue and Flashing Red Books about corruption and police warning lights. your information comes from sales people who are notorious liars. Creating stories from the dirty mustache is not what happened in Chester and Deep River, with hundreds now laid off, retired or fired the local stories about products are different. disclose where your information comes from or enjoy the fiction being created. much of these nonsense toys will be replaced by technology, even ambulance market is suggesting reduced use of code3 responses due to increased associated traffic accidents

Great video sir, do you by any chance know were I can get the wiring diagram for this bar and also what would be the proper model of the controller to operate the bar and the traffic advisor if you don't mind my asking?

There is only one Q that is worth anything, and it's made by Fed Sig! This has got to be one of the worst Whelen tones I have ever heard in my life. Why they thought this was a good idea is beyond me.

I found mine for sale on elightbars, but they can be ordered through a Whelen dealer. You can get the "EU" line through US dealers, it's worth searching online too as they pop up randomly. They aren't cheap new, I lucked out and got mine for under $100 NOS.

The Phoenix (Arizona) Police used these bars extensively throughout the 1980s. I can remember the blue lenses would always fade to a greenish color within a couple of years.

Aren't federal director and interceptor sirens supposed to have a drop tone when they get switched to wail? Or is that just the early models? Great video by the way

The Whelen sounds like the sirens I hear a lot in early 70's tv shows, did Whelen ever make a siren in or around 1973-1974?
@jeffkardosjr.38252 ай бұрын
4:59 - 5:19 These don't particularly sound like the French sirens.
@johnnz43752 ай бұрын
Most of them sound unrealistic compared to the real ones, and the 3 tone ambulance sirens where phased out years ago.

All very cool approaches manufacturers used, but the amount of engineering and resources used to come up with all the different ways to convert rotation into reciprocation seems counter to simplicity, efficiency, longevity, replacability, and profit. Seems like these designs violate Occum's Razor before the ink dried on the engineer's pallet.

Nothing is going to beat a true mechanical siren or a real set of Martin Horns, but when amp draw is and mounting space are an issue, electronic options become more attractive.

I noticed more than a couple tones that I could gladly use as a secondary that I believe would be effective. I especially like the tones I heard with tree parts, I think in many cases they would bring extra attention because they aren't so commonly heard.
@elightbars2 ай бұрын
A lot of these tones bare available in Core and I have played around with them as tone #2 in a dual amp Core setup. You are totally right that the tri-tone ones get attention. People aren't used to them so I think they don't just tune them out.

I think that’s kind of tone, doesn’t fit with the USA culture, here in my country chile 🇨🇱the fire depts have almost 3 siren, a q2b, a Whalen or fedsig, and the hi lo air horn plus the truck air horn ahaha

Really cool light bar, For whatever reason these 80/90/8000s weren't really popular on that side of the rockies. I'm assuming whelens distribution network wasn't as developed as it became with the edge series

Cool alteration to a decent condition 8000, I think the cruise lights despite adding to potential inefficacy of the 360s is the best thing about the 8000, as it showcases the fluting of the outer lenses, a sweet effect, the washout from the pars' is the main detraction from the strobes but still, very cool bar. I love the biased dwell time the flasher relay gives the amber as opposed to the blue, I noticed some older headlight flasher relays used to do this
