@thealuminumcarpenter Hi from Germany! Just found this channel and am very impressed of your fine work! (Already saw the man cave office furniture you've built! Great Design and work!) Just a quick question please: when you say "4040" or "4080" you mean the square length? E.g. 40 x 40 mm? Already was looking at your shop and I think I will need to order some tools in the near future! 🙏 Highly appreciate your work! 👍🏽🍀👍🏽🙏 Michael

This is one of the best DIY video I saw till today. Very nicely edited, excelent attention to detail, using own 3D printed jigs for even more precise assembly. I have no doubt, that you are so proud to your work every time you are around, because you know how its build. This things will serve yoy for very very long time. You open my mind, how I should think about my future projects. Thanks a lot.

You seem like the kind of guy I need to ask this question. I am going to need a piece of aluminum for a fence to clamp wood to either use a plane or router. What kind would you recommend? I was thinking 8020 with at least 7mm thick aluminum. Do you agree or is that overkill? It would be attached vertically on the apron of the workbench. Love the idea of aluminum for workbenches, clean and endless possibilities for work holding.
@TheAluminumCarpenter
@TheAluminumCarpenter Ай бұрын
I’ve read it over and over multiple times and i would love to help, but its not easy to visualize. 7mm thick aluminum is the most confusing part. If you meant extrusion, then there is no 7mm extrusion. Using aluminum extrusion will be your best bet.
@21blackwood
@21blackwood Ай бұрын
@@TheAluminumCarpenter yeah that was a typo. I don’t know what I was referring to on the 7mm. Ignore that. Just interested what type of T slot extrusion is the best and strongest to clamp material to vertically as if I were going to use the extrusion and clamps like a vice

Great video! What is the approximate weight capacity on a bench of this size, and is there an easy and practical way to add casters so it could easily be moved around a shop?
@TheAluminumCarpenter
@TheAluminumCarpenter 2 ай бұрын
Weight is up to the strength of the horizontal extrusion, but this table wasn't built to take abuse. Its for light battery repair work. Adding castors, its easy. We made so many structures on castor wheels. You can browse the designs all over our website : thealuminumcarpenter.com , hope this helps.
