Many years ago my late husband and I looked into immigration to Australia. We had to have enough money to buy a house and a guaranteed monthly income to support ourselves, otherwise no chance. Rhodesia used to be known as the bread basket of the world, their farmers were world renown. The blacks threw the whites out, killed them, chased them and took over their farms and found out that owning land did not mean wealth, that if you did not know how to farm, nothing happened,. Once the harvest was in and the animals were killed and the implements were rusted, no money came in. The whites grew the crops, not the land. Whether you plant weeds or corn, the land is impartial, it gives back what you put in. So, the clever foreigners, who own land, what are you doing here? Go back and restore that land to the abundance which it once gave.

My friend ,this is exactly why there are squatter camps in CT...it's because business owners are paying below the lawful wage and these workers have got no choice but to take the jobs...it is not the workers ,it is the business owners. If these workers were documented , the problem of squatter camp would greatly be reduced, because they would know their rights.
