Just throwing my experience & perspective out there humbly & respectfully 👋 I am an Australian, I have worked in the Mining Industry since 2016 (heavily related to underground mining methods but also surface mining methods). I have had the amazing opportunity to not just work in almost every Underground & Surface Mining role there is but also worked in many different commodities that have affiliated with them their own correlating hazards & challenges. A company allowed me to be a Cadet - Mining Engineer where I essentially was mentored, but at the same time allowed me to conduct the roles and responsibilities as a Mining Engineer. This role also allowed me to study whilst being full-time employed (online university was the key). With my years of experience in mining before this Cadetship, the universities allowed me to be able to RPL track (recognised prior learning) my years of experience within the mining operations scene, & skip my Bachelor’s & go straight into a Graduate Diploma Of Mining Engineering. I have now been conducting the role as a Mining Engineer for 2 years & am to graduate University next year. This will then allow me to be RPEQ Accredited (Registered Professional Engineer Queensland). The pay was hard to live with compared to my normal salary in the operation space. But I did have subjects paid for. Different states in Australia 🇦🇺 have different desires when they post for jobs, but I have been in two mine sites now employed as a normal mining engineer. My skills & knowledge from a hands on approach have certainly out shined a lot of Graduate Engineers, even more so to the point where I would literally teach a graduate engineer how to design an explosives detonation plan, and then proceed to take them underground & to install the explosives ourselves. Which brings the question. Should our countries governments begin to implement new strategies to ensure the next generation of engineers are sufficiently learning their craft? Open to all comments & opinions 👍

As an engineer you need to try and understand these concepts. Why does something work the way it does? Why do the solid balls roll at the same speed? Why are the hollow ones slower? Because of inertia. Okay, but what does that mean? What is inertia? What effect does it have, if it's big, if it's small? etc..

Your definition of power is specific to that which is generated by a torque. In general, power is the amount of energy transferred or converted per unit time, regardless of the method used to transfer the energy (e.g. a shearing force). To determine the number of Watts per Horsepower, simply take the year Columbus discovered America (after the Vikings) and divide by two. 1492 / 2 = 746. Just a happy coincidence.

Exactly the same as one of my professors. She’s like she’s only talking to herself, then faces the class and says “Any Questions?”. My other professor on the other hand, sometimes becomes too slow because she teaches everything step by step (use layman’s terms) to the point it becomes boring to some of us. I mean, at least we understand her better. Hope I can survive this undergrad degree.😂

We use the Venturi effect in the Merchant Marine. As a firefighter/damage controlman, I have had the training (and unfortunately the actual experience) of having to fight fires onboard ships. In the case of a fire that involves something petroleum based, we would use a foaming agent that would be mixed in-line with our fire hose to smother the fire rather than scattering it everywhere with normal seawater from the fire pump. To achieve this mixing process quickly and efficiently, an in-line connection is made between the hose and the nozzle, with a feed line from a canister of the foaming agent connected to the in-line connector on the hose. The geometry of that in-line connection is similar to this Venturi effect model, such that the water pressure coming from the pump and through the hose creates the Venturi effect, drawing up some of the foaming agent to mix with the seawater, creating a mixture that allows us to put out oil-based fires when other options such as carbon dioxide suppression are not viable.

Man first you have to be trained to use keyboard with audio typing style . Even with closed eyes you have type very fast . it is main factor for the rest of software's. It is main differentiation between user and professional people in this sphere . Then use SolidWorks by keyboard style . After you loose your teeth you can call themselves professional Computer crash teeth . Real professional have few of them

Horsepower is the rate of using torque to produce motion. Torque is just a force, you can have 1000 lb/ft of torque with zero rpm, and that will have zero horsepower.

​@@mociczyczkiThe numbers you gave are irrelevant if you don't tell where they are measured. Power is torque x speed. To have 100 hp with 1 nm you would need 700 000 rpm. To have 1 hp with 100 000 nm you would need 0.07 rpm. But you said that in both cases the speed is 10 km/h. That would be impossible because you said that the torque is measured at the wheel so the rpm would also be for the wheel. The only thing that would explain it is if there was 10 000 000x difference in the diameter of the wheel or the hp you gave is the specification of the engine and not the actual power it was producing at that moment

What you have is defined as a frame. A true truss is defined as only having pin connections and forces applied at the joints. The fact that you have continuous full top and bottom chords makes the joints no longer pin connections. The math is no longer only tension and compression. Moments snd sheer need to be applied. Also, your connection of the weight needs to be directly on the joint. Thay contraption looks like its applying ALOT of shear force. So. If you did flip the truss over and apply load directly above the joint, say with a string, then the frame/truss would absolutely be stronger. It's because the joint is easier to load properly. Not necessarily because the top is loaded

It appears you're using a cyanoacrylate glue ("Super Glue") to attach your gussets. I've been a carpenter and woodworker for 45 years (everything from framing to cabinetmaking), and whenever I've needed a maximum strength bond between wood pieces, I've used a respected and popular glue. There are several, but I greatly prefer Titebond products. (I have zero connection with the company--just speaking from my own experience.) Occasionally I'll use epoxy and, on rare occasions, and for temporary purposes only (such as holding a workpiece in place while I saw or plane or rout the workpiece), I'll use SuperGlue with a spray activator. There are other wood glues, of course, but if you watch the woodworking channels of people who know what they're doing, you'll see the Titebond label on almost all of them. SuperGlue? Rarely. Gorilla Glue? Forget it! Messy, porous stuff. As for the stresses and other engineering issues, those are above my pay grade, but for wood to wood connections, use a recognized and respected brand of glue. Also, although TiteBond usually cures to 90% strength within an hour, I'd give your connections 24 hours before testing, so as to eliminate any possibility of uncured glue weakening your joint.

In a truss, the load should be applied only at the joints. So whether you load it from the top or bottom the load should be applied at the joint. The members are not designed to take bending loads. Also the joints need to be pin jointed otherwise bending moment is produced in the members leading to unexpected failure.
