To go to Kinki, after listerning to Luxman, is like having a clean window in to the music. So if you lika a small % of softening of the sound and a touch of unrealistic varmth, go with Luxman. But don´t forget It is always up to personal taste and pairing of equipment.

Vinyl has to be listened to at a slightly higher volume. But vinyl has a nicer sound. Both are good, but vinyl is the winner.

Good speakers and amplification is everything. Even KZbin can sound spectacular with the right DAC. Vinyl sounds better some of the time because of the equalization, but that's before wear and tear creates surface noise. The CD will sound the same every time and won't easily wear out unless you have childish vandals handling them. If all you do is listen to 2 channel audio a sonic equalizer is a good investment.

Another senseless "Apple with Pear" comparison!! Of course there is a difference, always!!!! It starts with different mixing and mastering although the same source material would be used! Every step after that is different, different materials, different equipment and so on!! Who can judge that the quality of a digital equipment is the same as the analog counterpart??? Plse stop those BS comparisons! Sheer clickbait!!

I do not think in theory you are right in practice you should not make such notices - too many instant charges without specification do not provide any real input . I have very fine aligned system which unveils "everything" .I also made such comparisons just by curiosity. Anyway outcome from my experiments is that both are extremly simmilar - much more than I could observe here. May be because I use different material - original records issued 50 years ago and their CD versions reedited later. This way it is not parallel production of two mediums which may be eventualy mastered separately but one is reproduced copy of another.

The CD system has better transient response on the kick drums and is therefore more engaging to my taste. ps> What brand of damping weight do you have on your Denafrips Pontus dac?

Good comparison, thanks. CD sounds more balanced on my system, vinyl a little bit coloured in the mids. Some details more please: which Cartridge, which cable between Thorens and PH 10 (i have PH 10 too), which cable between Transport and denafrips (which model?), which Speakers, which Power Cables on each Component and which Power distributor?
@ Thanks. Wow, that seems to be a wonderful combination. I Use AudioquestCables too (Carbon CAT 7/Telegärtner Metal Plugs, XLR digital Cinnamon), Tellurium (Power Cable, 900 Euros, Tellurium Q silver), both very good, but yours are better. Digicable from Reclocker Mutec MC3+: Neotech OCC with ETI Cryo BNC-Plugs.

CD as so often just has no fundamental body, the turntable brings it to another level, but isn‘t my choice either, by what the speakers show. Both are equally out of my choices, clearly. It‘s likely the speakers that doesn‘t really transport the differences enough. I don‘t like the amp either, but I know that this isn‘t the amp‘s fault, that‘s proven to give enough magic to any input and sends it over to the speakers.

Is the Vinyl the new 45 RPM from Analogue Productions Mastered from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman? Is your CD SACD? The Analogue Productions 45 RPM Aaron Neville is sublime in vocals, instruments and soundstage. I voice like Aaron's deserves the warmth of tubes and vinyl.
I do not share opinion that anyone realy need to increase of frequency band with 45/m.
@scottadams752316 күн бұрын
@@Mikexception Would you then suggest even digital streaming low bit rates vs. higher bit rates also has little effect?
@Mikexception15 күн бұрын
@@scottadams7523 We are talking about LPs 45/m - streaming is not comparable. . I think we know not enough about real interactions and impact l on our senses and we pull conclusions very fast by simplified intuition based on technical observations of instruments. not senses That is why is a lot of contrary opinions without clearly justified result . If somebody could technicaly define what is the "little effect" and judge it in justified scale then we can at least start dispute if anything has it or no. You must be not technical engineer if you are using such not precise termin . In my opinion all THD which are created in significant for hearning range above 5kHz and are created in LP reproduction are for sure are hardest to controll They are groupped and condensed by multiplying by 3 in range 15kHz - 60 kHz together with harmonics of eventual noise and cracks . As suggested by many those THD will mix and affect back the lower well perceived range. If it is cut at max 15 kHz all that THD would not be recorded to LP and have enough volume which could add/deduct to sounds in hearing band

Sounds more vibrant on vinyl, surprisingly. More treble and airy. I'd like to know if they were volume level matched.
I think the difference which in this system has positive impact on sound and may come from pickup not from LP. quality. Anyway it is for me advantage of turntable that it gives opportunity to make slight alignment by choosing best for owned system pickup. .In fact I would expect opposite - that digital would be better articulated but onlu in sopranos. I have four pickups different shapes to my Bang Olufsen turntable each with different specific it makes just about such differences - the best is full contact and sounds most smooth with best perspective .

silver brings out the vocals and detail and air more than copper thats what ive noticed but it does it blended with 3 dimensions, but copper has much better separation and its easier to follow instruments and sounds which is ultimately better for listening to music to enjoy it and not to drool over sounds even though its easy to do it. copper always sounds best in the end if you can tweak the system a little or introduce a tiny bit of silver somewhere. if you like everything sounding alive like a live performance with great realistic detail and open sound get silver, if you like hifi or pa speakers get copper.

Man, I wish there was a cable TQ Grey, being the combination of silver and black :D It's impossible to judge from here but the silver had almost too much energy but I missed its clarity when the Blacks came over, especially when the music got into full swing. I also can't imagine how your system sounds like and what sort of synergy to go for or pitfalls to avoid, having towers with ribbon tweeters but then two monoblock tube amps. I'm guessing I would go with the more conventional cables here.

Kinki EX-M1 seems to have better transient response and therefore more resolving. I wonder if that alone could make a difference when auditioning full philharmonic orchestra recordings.
@johnb66774 ай бұрын
Unfortunately after sales service at Kinki Studio leaves a lot to be desired. My EX-M1+ amp, only a few months old, developed nasty distortion on every channel. All Kinki has done is to blame it on my cables. I have checked my cables on two other systems and they are in perfect condition. Kinki refuses to swap out the amp. For that reason I have to recommend you avoid Kinki Studio products at least for now.
