I’ve begun playing with Fresco “parts” ( Head, eyes, mouth, torso, arms, etc. )that I then import into Dreams for motion animation. I liked this approach, but all this work in the drawing layers seems like a lot of business.

David, I really appreciate all you do, it’s been great. Is there a place I can share my approach with you like in a Discord server?
@davidpikedesignsКүн бұрын
I think for rigging, the approach you describe is the best, but, yes, it can be very time-consuming to set up and manage. However, I guess I would rather rig than draw each frame. I guess either option has its pros and cons. Thanks for watching!

Hello David! Happy new year. Are you aware of it’s possible to use procreate dreams with this? So that the lip syncing can be done automatically? As you are aware it’s a tedious process on dreams
@davidpikedesigns5 күн бұрын
Happy new year to you, too! It is a tedious process in Dreams, but I did create a video on the process I used. Even if it is tedious, it would probably be easier to create the entire thing in Dreams. Here is the lip sync video I made. Hope it helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZjYXqpjrpqshZI

@ many thanks David. Thankfully I had seen the video you sent through prior, and I would like to thank you very much for your work and guidance. It really is appreciated. I have a lot of dialogues or monologues in my animation unfortunately so it takes me hours upon hours. But it is what it is for now. It’s something that I didn’t have before and need to be appreciative regardless. Thanks again David and have a great week ahead.

Happy to help! I do know Blender has an add-on that can automate lip sync. Also, I'm considering learning Moho for 2D animation, and it has an auto lip sync function as well. Hopefully, they will add it at some point to Dreams.

Nice work! Very cute animation! Unfortunately, I've had to abandon Procreate Dreams at this time. The lack of selection tools makes it extremely hard to use. I did see a new roadmap, and those tools are to be released soon, but a date wasn't given. I may check it out again once that release is available, but I'm back to working on my desktop with Toon Boom Harmony and Blender. Thanks for watching!

9:05 - This is a great video. I found it because I just found out about the "pie menu" - apparently I am supposed to enable it under Pref. under Add-On, but it's not there. But I see you're able to access it and access various versions of it, just by pressing a few buttons. I could access all BUT the ones I came here for, which was the view pie. I don't have num pad, so this would be very useful! I am not sure if I understand what you're saying, but I can't access it. which button did you say to access it

Sir, I’m just starting on the 2D animation journey, so apologies in advance if this sounds like an obtuse question. I’m using Procreate for characters and environments. Which animation software would be best where we can import characters from Procreate and animate them?
@davidpikedesignsАй бұрын
If I were starting out, and I wanted to balance cost with functionality, and I didn't need to animate on the iPad, I would look at Moho Pro for 2D animation. I like Blender, and it is free; however, working on 2D character animation within Blender has its challenges. I prefer creating my environments in Blender and animating characters in Toon Boom Harmony. If I didn't already have a Harmony perpetual license, I would be using Moho. They have a robust range of tools that allow you to rig and manipulate images. They also have an extensive, free training course on KZbin, and they frequently load tutorials. I would expect them to have a holiday sale as well, so I would keep an eye out for that. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

This is a great video! I don't really know how this video has >3k views, and only 77 likes! I'm new to blender, and have tried for days to change the bloody colour of the line-art. My problem was that I thought that I could only pick black, but it helps a lot to know that you can turn up the brightness-slider on the colour-picker. Thanks for tutorial. But actually it's not necessarily to render literally everything in Blender. You may render only your character with alpha channel into image (or image sequence if you have the animation). And add the background on post-prod in Photoshop (or in After Effects if you animate). Besides you may add a blur filter to background in post-prod or any other favorite filters you need.
@davidpikedesigns2 ай бұрын
I agree! I prefer to do my compositing in other software, such as DaVinci Resolve; however, some people like to keep their workflow in one program whenever possible. Luckily, Blender has a built-in compositor for those people, but I do think using multiple programs can make the process easier. Thanks for watching!
