Hey guys great channel! You think the Tikka recoil lug is a weak point of the rifle? Not sure why its not attached to the action.

What scope mount do you have on there? Looking to put one on mine also. Thanks
@ChuckinTV3 күн бұрын
it's the base that comes on this rifle. I believe you can still get them from CVA's website still.

@ChuckinTV I'll have to look. Mine came with a one-piece durasight mount instead of the picatinny. Thank you

What paint and prep process did you use on the stock? Has the paintjob held up or does it rub off easily?
@ChuckinTV12 күн бұрын
its just rustoleum spray paint. I just cleaned the stock really well with rubbing alcohol. and sprayed multiple coats with different colors with leaves and things for the pattern. It does chip off here and there, perhaps because i could have used a better primer. but overall i think it adds some cool character to it

The original has crap for sights. But my cheap optics work fine. I also bought the aftermarket adjustable rear sight. I've been considering replacing the front one. Overall, a good gun.

I mean... Actual footage can be more useful than weights on a rocker... I mean it feels how it feels--like recoil... but seeing this is actually really useful.

I made the exact same trigger change on my Rem 700 PCR chambered in .260. 6 lbs was the lowest setting I could get it to. Basically it was non-adjustable. The Timney I set just under 2 lbs and it is wonderful. You are right. Much Improved accuracy.

Pretty sure you find the right load and you couldn’t ask for any better! Nice rifle, considering seriously getting one myself after having a horrible experience with a single shot h&r .270win last year. I really had hoped to make that my go to deer gun for these southern woods in sc where I will never shoot over 60-80 yards, I never could get it to group decent.
@backwoodsman4854Ай бұрын
No excuse for shooting that far, you give real hunters a bad name! Too many deer move and are wounded!

I have the same rifle in .223. I got a 0.505" five shot group using factory SigSauer Marksman ammo loaded with 77gr Berger OTM bullets. The rifle may like different ammo better since every rifle has is own preference. Just my $0.02.

pjbiggleswerth8903 is 100% correct. The shot was about one foot behind the vitals that would have dropped the deer in it tracks. This way the deer suffered a lot. We don't know how long it was before these "hunters" came on the scene. For all we know, it could have been 10-20 minutes later and the deer still alive suffering on the ground, with the necessity for them to put it out of its misery. There should be a law, that any old hunter may shoot an animal that is within 100 yards. For longer shots hunters should be required to qualify and be issued a special long range license. For the same reason, I am completely against bow hunting in which often hunters have to track the wounded animal for miles. 400 years ago all hunters had were bows and arrows, but today with modern firearms and super scopes, hunting with a bow is pure cruelty.

Thanks for the review. Have been offered a 695 in 7mm rem mag for a decent price. Already have a Vortex 6-24x to go on it.

I have several 22mags. Dont shoot them much these days, ammo is way to expensive. I can buy almost two boxes of 9mm for price of one 22mag. Most of mine shoot good enougb for hunting but ard not tack drivers. I would rsally like to see more accuracy testing out at 100 yards. Thats tge range this round was made for.

I love the idea of these rifles. I see the forearm isn't floated which is good because I had a Harrington and Richardson and nothing I did would legit be accurate cause of floating stock

I recently purchased a Seekins Havak Element in 6.5 Creedmoor. On its maiden voyage to the range I brought along five different boxes of ammunition. The best of the group was Federal Non-Typical 140 grain soft point. With this I was able to shoot a .403 group. Second best was Hornady Whitetail Hunter 129 grain. With this I was able to shoot a .719 group. Hornady Precision Hunter 143 grain and Federal Fusion 140 grain both shot sub-MOA groups. The worst of the lot was Winchester solid copper 125 grain which impacted in a circular pattern about 6 inches in diameter. I fired six rounds and it looked like a shotgun was used. Hopefully the Winchester will work in another Creedmoor chambered rifle.
