Great video. Looks like Ben lost it in the final corner. You two kept pedaling while he stopped, the gap that appeared as a result was too big for him to close.

Nothing a little high cadence speed work won’t fix! Not a bad reason to also try a shorter crank? I’m tempted to try 165mm as it’ll give me better top end. It’ll also help with seated power too!

USA here. What are the rules for lapping the main peleton? Can they work with you? Are they relegated? In the states the peleton can ride with lapping riders but placed a lap down behind all break away riders.

Welcome friend! This is a club crit so 'anything kinda goes', but the lapped bunch SHOULD sit up and let the break ride away. In competition, a few things can happen like: lapped bunch pulled off the course, lapped bunch get 1 lap to go etc etc.
