Great advice regarding the bead between top and bottom hook, the tolerances on hooks aren't what they used to be and many, even posh brands leave a slight gap between the eye and shank of the hook. This WILL cut into your hook length so keep an eye out for that and change when needed. Also if people are using a pulley for Flatfish and rays, fish it with a bit of slack so the bait is presented on the sea floor rather than flapping around in the tide a foot off the bottom. Might save a blank but will definitely target Flounders, Dabs and Plaice much better.

Hi Andy, I have a question I'm hoping you can answer. I had an M4GT Zziplex custom built by UK Hooks in 2017 and was told that their rod builder was a chap called Chris Dance, there is no signature or sticker on the rod to confirm this, maybe he didn't do that,so how do I know if he built my rod. It is a beautiful for tho. Love the channel mate, keep up the good work👍.

When used to be on mono which ever reel l had used in a session, of a set four duplicate 525s, line could be changed every session say once a week. On braid main lines now past 10 years up here in the heavy mixed ground in north east, main line seldon gets changed year round, but the braid casting leaders get changed most sessions.

Massive fan of chinu's but have been playing with dongles on 2/0 circles which have really worked well with the rays and no gut hooked doggies. Have also found Sakuma Crab hook in 2/0-3/0 which I'm liking alot, a nice wide mouth short shank but a really strong hook.

@paddington302818 күн бұрын
Like them or not, especially for Rays, a dongle with a good quality circle is very hard to beat. 3 4 or5/0 depending on bait size IMO increases hook ups and landed fish.😁
@MrDanchurch18 күн бұрын
Pointless comment 😂 but i used to use pennel all the time one day i had 4 rigs on rotation one had single hook, had 4 good cod on the one single hook rig, ever since i use single hook and dropped far less fish since, going to give the chinus ago as I sometimes think the j looks to much on smaller sandell, i use 4/0 bmx . What do you use on the bottom hook as chinu bent eye isn’t it ?

Shame you didn't use a bright yellow or white rubber 5oz ball to cast, it would off shown up better than the lead, for the camera shots .

Been looking at pendulum casting but im more at home with right hand on reel and left hand on the butt end of rod when casting. Dont think i would be able to learn left handed. Though for me the pendulum cast would have to be a mirror image, left foot 9oc and right 12oc and swing on my left side. Just thinking that would feel so awkard, since being right side dominate.

Mmm 🤔 it does look the nuts I must say, but its half as much again as a Damiltech holdall, and the rod straps are twice the price of the akios identical ones. Century will sell loads just because of the branding but I still think the pricing on the range is milking it.. don't get me started on forty notes for tracky bottoms 😮😂😂

Hope they do a 2 rod design, something smaller. What I have found with every bag design bar the blue Abu cord design rod bag, is the modern ones are to thick and bulky. I often ride my bike when fishing, and everything bar the Abu bag is like a wind sail, so hope they come out with something smaller.

Nothing in life prepares you for loved ones passing and I know that from my own experiences, it will stay with you forever. I commend you for openly talking about your loss and regrets and being honest that takes some doing. Its strange that we all feel young at whatever age we are (am 57) but something like this makes you feel grown up and in a way your a man now not the boy and you feel the need to be more adult and caring about who's around you and not the material things in life. Keep going Andy, loving the content. Tightlines
