I am lucky enough to have both these reels, in pairs, and in the 20 size, my preference that's all. I have to agree that the Saltiga wins for me, but only just. Its the pure grunt and guts, and the build quality. I know Abu reels are rarely talked about these days, but I have to say, recently I fished my Kompressor sports paired with Abu Chrome rockets on a clean beach. OK they lack in retrieve and power of the formentioned reels plus the fatoms etc, but they make up for it in finesse, beautifully smooth free running, and set up right they were flying out, a pleasure to fish with, and they add a bit of nostalgia, gave me a smile all day, haven't used them in years.!! Cheers. Rich

Nice Series Going Andy. Would be interesting to see whats out there these days thats worth the money instead of the well known old reliables everyone recommends. LIke the New Blue and black saltists vs the the mk 4 Penn mags etc. Keep it up

Got to be the BG, especially for the price and overall quality out of the box. It will haul anything off the shore in the UK.. JMO

Andy that penn has been outdated for years here in the USA. Your Saltiga not really top shelf here either. Primo reels here are truth or accurate. Diawa and penn fathom 2 cs available. But not as dependable we really have big fish here. I personally use penn fathom 2 casting special. Here at the Outer Banks. You should come next fall for some real .big fish
