Great workhorse bikes, like Bandits but with more issues as the miles go up. Finish can be hard to keep clean, corrosion especially bad if ridden all year. Don't worry false neutrals are common on this engined Blade too, if only Suzuki built the boxes for these😊. Many reports of the perennial Honda camchain issues, wtf they can't nail an engine together still is incredible. Front wheel bearings fail, reg/recs as stated but also stator and ABS units go pop.

A question mate. Does the windshield completely help block the wind when you are cruising at the highway and how tall are you
@rimskylee1
@rimskylee1 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate I’m about 5’ 9” and I can cruise quite comfortably at motorway speeds. The screen doesn’t eliminate all of the wind noise, but it does a good job of eliminating the wind buffeting your head. Also because of the adjustable wind deflector, you can fine tune it to what works best for you. I hope this answers your questions. 👍🏍😀

I fit these for a company but for many DIY installs it can be easily fitted wrongly! The bolt is designed to sheer for safety of the user it prevents over tightening of the friction arm to prevent the throttle staying open when you need it closed. The torque are will often need a 10mm spacer to allow the reach from mount area across to throttle. When fitted correctly they last for years.

Great review of a great bike! I bought mine - silver like yours - about six months ago and probably paid far too much for it from a dealer but I just love the look of it, even with full luggage on it. I love touring, don't want to go fast, and as such the Biffa suits me down to the ground. I don't ride much in the winter and the battery went flat on me - I was told the battery was on the way out so I bought another (Yuasa) which went flat on me after about 3 weeks of not riding the bike, so have now bought an Optimate 4 charger which I hope will keep the battery happy and in good condition. There's nothing worse than wanting to go for a ride and not being able to start the bike. The weather has been either too cold or too wet so it can be three weeks before a window of opportunity comes along and it seems that, stored in a cold garage, a battery can go flat in that time. I'm told that these bikes have stator (?) issues but I'm hoping mine doesn't. Roll on the better weather - can't wait to go touring again! Oh, and thanks for the useful recommendation regarding the tank bag - I'm going to need all the storage I can get with the missus on board and full camping kit.

Hi, how do you find the MRA screen with the deflector? I went for a Givi tall screen on mine as I couldn't get why the MRA would have holes in the upper half of the screen. From your experience does it let water straight through when riding in rain at all? It just looked like it would drop water all over the clocks when I looked at them lol. Fantastic bikes, I love mine. Cheers.
@rimskylee1
@rimskylee1 5 жыл бұрын
2 Wheeled Pedal & Motor Biking Adventures when I bought my bike, it had the Givi tall touring screen fitted. I couldn’t get on with that screen as I just experienced too much turbulent air hitting the top of my helmet at motorway speeds. The MRA screen does a much better job of deflecting that turbulent air. I have had no issues of rain pouring through the holes in the screen. I’m about 5 foot 9. I think if I was a couple of inches shorter then the Givi screen would have been perfect. I think the reason why the MRA screen works so well, is because of the adjustable deflector. Anyway I hope this answers your questions and keep on enjoying your fantastic bike 👍🏍😜

hey there. I am owner of honda cbf 2007. my one is still runing but I am concerned about this problem with stator. so I was wondering is it possible to predict when its going to happen? like any sings you noticed or it just happend sudenly?
@rimskylee1
@rimskylee1 5 жыл бұрын
Marko Radovic the only thing that happened with mine, was the headlight bulb blew not long beforehand. I don’t know if it was a coincidence, or it had something to do with the stator maybe surging before it burnt out. Other than that, it was fine one minute and wouldn’t start the next. I suppose you could use a volt meter to check the output of your stator, to see if it’s putting out enough voltage. If it’s down on what it should be, then I guess the stator is on it’s way out. Hope this helps 👍🏍😜
@mintal09

@@rimskylee1 thank you for reply. yeah it helps so at least I know what to expect. I guess installing those cheap voltmeters would be good idea so you can monitor while riding if they show any reliable value
@rimskylee1
@rimskylee1 5 жыл бұрын
Marko Radovic that’s a great idea. I was only thinking along the lines of checking periodically with a multimeter before you head off for a ride. To have a volt meter permanently wired in, with the display visible from the dash is a much better idea, as you could be continually monitoring it during your ride. I may look into doing that myself. Well done on a great idea 👍😃
@mintal09
@mintal09 5 жыл бұрын
@@rimskylee1 yeah I was thinking for long time how to prevent being stuck on motorway and such unpleasant situations. since your machine can run some minutes without stator using charge from battery this would give you enough time to leave main roads and go on the side,etc (who knows if this would work in real world). I will aslo buy multimeter this is something every household should have. post a video if you mount such a thing on your motorcycle and safe riding

@rimskylee1
@rimskylee1 5 жыл бұрын
billy batts yes it’s a common fault on these bikes. Poorly designed regarding oil feeds to the stator, which causes them to overheat and burn out prematurely. I had the same problem with mine. I did a video on it. Apparently they rectified it on the mk2, by putting in extra oil feeds. I haven’t had any issues with my side stand switch yet, but again this is a common problem with a lot of bikes, due to crud and water getting into them over time. Hope you managed to sort your problems out ok and you’re still enjoying your bike as much as I am mine 👍🏍😜
