Bran, in 1:00:22 there is a translation error between English and Chinese, Aether isn't talking about the previous Dendro Archon, he is talking about a friend from another world. When he says "my memories are the sole proof that she existed in this world", the "in this world" part in Chinese has a grander connotation. He isn't talking about "this world" as the planet on which Teyvat is, but rather the phrase "this world" in Chinese talks about the World with capital W, the whole World, the Universe that is. So the friend he is talking about actually lived on another planet that Aether and Lumine visited on their journey. I honestly was shocked when I got to this part. I had a feeling that the writers of the game kinda forgot that The Twins are interstellar travelers, and then suddenly main character talks about an old friend from another world! Also, if you doubt what I'm saying, the Traveler is talking about his ancient memories at that moment, emphasis on ancient. From his point of view, Rukkhadevata stopped existing only a couple of years ago, she cannot be a friend from an ancient memory. And he barely knew the previous Dendro Archon, she wasn't his friend.

I think the reason why Traveler is never suspicious especially towards npcs, is because of his overwhelming confidence He probably thinks that whatever tricks or betrayal or some shit they pull up is useless in front of his strength That's also probably why he's always cautious about the fatui only and especially the Harbingers because they actually are threats to him unlike compared to some random ass merchant or some npc

Obviously the “villain” was rather lackluster, but pretty much everything else was amazing. We got so many interesting tidbits about the nature of memories, the Traveler actually got to show some personality for once, and as a Regrator lover, I’m so happy we finally got our first mention of him since YELAN’S STORY QUEST. And of course Citlali is an absolute wreck and we love her for it.

Montluson is a commentary on IRL European “history enthusiasts” who steal and pillage and damage sites and make them worthless as well as a commentary on Western nations believing that other nations are inferior. The story was about citlali and mc and huitzilin. The commentary was about racism. The message was about not closing up and that a perspective change can alter the history of your life and that you’re never alone as someone can always relate and learn from each other.

Even when we had TV some people would believe that spaghetti was grown on trees, yes it happened. Even some members of Fatui, a highly advance military group, still couldn't recognise the Traveller let alone just a random traveling merchant or civilian. Teyvat in game is heavily downscaled. you'd imagine it better if you upscale it to the real world equivalent. Therefore it is understandable if information about us didn't actually spread all over Teyvat that well.

This quest actually has a lot of interesting points regarding the way "history" and "memory" are conceptualised in different ways with in particular the written tradition of Europe (Fontaine) and the oral tradition/interpretative sources like paintings and scrolls in Africa/America (Natlan). But yeah Citlali distracted from that a bit with the whole scene with the traveler. Not that I am complaining

@@vijayeshdey1172 I don't hate her, but the "everyone loves the protagonist" thing is boring, no matter how recluse or antisocial the character is, they are friends with the traveler on the first interaction, even if it contradicts their normal behavior, specially if they are not aware of who the traveler is. There is also the part where this can lead to this being all there is to the character after hoyo is done "selling them and moving to other characters", like Sara, she felt as a normal person during the Inazuma archon quest and I really liked her there, now she just shows up during events, says "shogun, shogun, shogun" and then leaves.

(At least in EN) - A message the story gives is "Don't respect the boundaries other people give you", as twice during the 'happy ending' the troupe ignores Furina's direct statements of her boundaries. And the game treats this as a good thing. (Having her perform, and name-dropping her in the Curtain Call at the end.) - The parallel story of the Troupe didn't help explore or expand on Furina as a character. The only real relation to her is the story of the play being parallel to her own story. Edit: Also want to add that having 0 explanation of her ousia/pneuma and outfit swaps as a vision holder also makes her kit feel non-canon to me. But this is more what I wish they explored and not really relevant for why I think her SQ was a major disappointment.

Mainly because Natlan is not entrenched in politics and a bustling economy the same way Liyue, Fontaine, and even Mondstadt are.

The staert of the stream made me remember when "Cy Yu" went to play 2 other story quest, one of them was Cyno's 2nd story, and in both he kept triggering Yoimiya's 2nd story quest cutscenes and went to skip the deiolgoues to return to the current quest, it was so hilarious to watch, and more hilarious for the fact a year later he still triggered Yoimiya's cutscenes accidentally. Also, I enjoyed every time Citlali was able to read Aether's mind, and the way she react to his thoughts, plus how she's willing to od what he wants and even go easy with him on what he thinks of her, a woman like her who cause trama for generations of the tribe's best is easy-going with the hero of Natlan. Edit: It's funny that they kept Citlali able to hear the traveler's thoughts even after the quest, wonder if it means more awkward moments in a future event involving Citlali, probably in 5.8 even? Who knows.

good thing about the npc being revealed to be a villain here, unlike in other quests, is that citlali was suspicious of him from the beginning and made it clear she was doing this for the traveler's sake, not montluson's. it was meant to be obvious that she would find him suspicious, therefore we as the players would pick up on it plus the other scenes with her and the traveler talking about her past reinforcing that this is her story quest, this is about her confronting her past, stopping a bigoted fontaine dude was just part of it (...that being said, idk if it's because of my being filipino and my interest in history, but i was also suspicious of montluson from the beginning because he was a european coded person talking about writing the "true historical facts" of natlan for the consumption of people from fontaine. when people from fontaine can and have visited natlan before, and judging by the melusine's words, they're not shy about sharing their history either. mont-loser was already waving his red flag to me before i went to go see citlali in the quest)

It doesn't really matter because I suppose you already did that portion separately, but in the part of the tribal quest where the chief is talking about the tribe and the camera pans out to showcase the whole area, it shows the bird graffiti MOVING despite no use of elemental sight as a master of night wind character. And from that point on, it is ALWAYS moving, regardless of who is in your party and without needing to use elemental sight. So myself and the others in your chat that one day when someone showed you the bird in the first place were not lying to you. 😞 that part of the tribal quest was available last patch so we could have it moving for a while when others wouldn't
