It's on the list. I have all of the parts and when I have a chance I will walk through the trouble shooting process. Easy tip straight off is if your tachometer is not working replace the alternator and this may solve your transmission problem.

Great work - I have similar issues but I thought instruction manuals say you shouldn't allow operator to extend to its mechanical limit? Has this cause any problems ..yet..? response appreciated
@ironore18665 ай бұрын
Yeah the manufacturer says not to extend them to their limit. I have been using them for a couple years like that no problems (except unrelated lightning strike killed the board) Without using them that way I couldn't have used that system.
@gezza32385 ай бұрын
Thanks response - pleasant surprise - is yours the same such that if you unpin from gate the arm just goes into a nonstop SPIN at full arm extension? if so does your motor stop on full extension because the attaching of the arm to the gate stops this spinning motion?? ... Oh perhaps yours is some hydraulic rather than worm drive - though probably wrong terms, but hope understand (i have two chrome pistons wheras you only have one) ? @@ironore1866

Thanks so much for this series of videos! My manager and I were arguing about how the fuel system worked on our D4D CAE2 (BL60), and this perfectly explained it all! You're very articulate about the way the parts work. That fuel control rod is a crazy design! I'm curious: it looks like there is only one cam shaft, which sits right below the injector pumps. Are the pumps driven by that cam directly, and then the valves are running off the same cam, by push-rods? Also, is the oil pump on the rear of the block? Fascinating engine, thank you for any answers you can provide :)

The bracket on the gate should be slightly lower than the bracket on the post to prevent water ingress into the gate ram.

Vh4d and all other air cooled engines with shrouds like these MUST have their head cover shroud removed and clean out all of the MOUSE nests at least every spring! Most of these engine rebuilds are caused by overheating from debris caught in the fins around the heads. And make sure your screen over the fan intake is serviceable. Just a “heads up”!

No sure how many hours it took. Did it over time and it was pretty cold out at the time. Would definitely be waaaay faster the second time. Careful with the cab assistance spring. It can be released on the right side when the cab is up. Then it is crazy heavy after that....careful. Wish I saw a vid like this before I did it!

You need a large line coming off of your tank to make the big impact work properly. The one I use is an inexpensive one from ebay. Definitely don't get one with the trigger where it is on mine.

Currently looking at replacing my starter solenoid, it looks like we have the same assembly (95' dt466), would it be possible to remove and replace just the solenoid while the starter is still mounted to the vehicle (leaving the plunger assem in, but replacing just the solenoid body)? or is this not possible? thanks :)
