Too bad Ryobi with the biggest battery can't beat 60% of its torque specs. 1800 in.lb struggles for 900.

So far, Ryobi One+ tools have met our needs; I've never used the recip for demolition, but it does well enough with 3" (+/-) tree limbs outside. I would definitely consider "better" now (probably Milwaukee; we got a few M12 tools recently), but are sufficiently invested in the One+ line and batteries that switching without a clear need probably doesn't make sense. Thanks for this review though; if the Ryobis ever die (none have in over 15 years of homeowner use), I'll probably bite the bullet and switch to Milwaukee.

This a great saw for service plumbers! I rarely need more power than this and it gets into a lot of tight spots that an 18v cant. And its lighter so its easier to carry around. 12v is the way to in my line of work! Lol

@@mfcbuilds man i just left out of home depot before i watched this video, and spoke to a ryobi woman that had been texting about ryobi days since i left the damn store. We held both boxes in our hands and had a discussion. Where you misinterpreted what you read, which i didnt see you reading anything but the box, isnt my fault buddy. Youve been done with brushed motors so you wouldnt have the conversstion i had anyway because im not an in depth tool guy. But i can read and have a high comprehension level. Great video though i appreciated it. Milwaukee is hella expensive and all my tools are ryobi so anyone that gives us a fair shake, im on their side.

I appreciate that. Ryobi has held their own in almost all testing. The only one I truly cant recommend is their 18v recip. I honestly shook my hands to death. Using that tool any more than a minute wreaks havoc on your hands.

As a garage door residential/ commercial installer, and service tech, sawzalls are a great and quite useful tool. I can see having both full size, and compact. Having the M12 tool collection is a huge plus. For heavy duty commercial work, i used a mix a corded tools and battery operating where feasible.

I was taught (50+ yrs ago) that you should start the saw before you touch the blade to the wood. For any type of saw. Wondering why you don't do that.

Bc in the amazing youtube space, someone would say I'm cheating somehow. I can hear it now, "you clearly moved down faster to the board with the Milwaukee when you started. That's why it won. Total bs test" It's just more consistent for testing. I start with the blade running in normal use as well.

I was going to just buy the cut off saw, a battery and charger, but that was $210, so the choice was easy. I am a maintenance electrician, so the m12 platform is perfect for my needs.

Why not give away the best tools? Don't be silly, then what would be the incentive for people to pay more to get them? I am not an impact driver snob I suppose, because if it's not going to be ultra-compact so it doesn't fit in the tightest spaces anyway, then I'm fine with their brushed P235. I got it from Direct Tools as a blemished item for $21 delivered. I don't use an impact driver all day in a profession so I don't need a big overlap between what my clutched drill and my impact wrench can do. The impact driver only gets used for medium to smaller fasteners. The real question is, if you are trying to do the biggest hardest mostest possible, why even get a 1/4" drive impact driver? This is kind of why 3/8" impact drivers and wrenches exist. Right now, with the current state of the 1/4" driver market, it's easy to generate enough torque to wreck 1/4" bits. It helps that they hammer, but it's going opposing directions trying to squeeze as much as possible out of 1/4" when larger exists.

The 4 speed is important, it’s not just about power as they both have enough power at max speed
@stinkycheese80422 күн бұрын
If you say so. I've been successfully using a single speed impact driver for quite a while and never stopped and thought that I failed because I didn't have more speeds. ;)
@joemarooni45807 күн бұрын
@@stinkycheese804 You didn’t understand, I am saying that speeds 1 and 2 are sometimes necessary as you don’t always need the 3 speeds, yes you can vary speeds by pressing less but it’s annoying when you are on the job, sometimes my job only requires a 1 speed so I put it there and work.

Well they (4 sp.) haven't even been on the market that many years, so not sure where you're getting the idea that you've been using them "forever" ? I have the full-size saw, but this little guy does great in confined spaces (think tight closets, interstitials, crawl spaces) and can be used one-handed. Sure--it's not as gutsy as a larger unit, but it's not designed for crazy big demo jobs, it's designed to get where nothing else can and get the needed results. I enjoy mine quite a bit, and if you work in tight spaces, then this is a great solution, especially if you are in the M12 battery platform. Thanks!

Great video man. I'm on 12v and 20v Dewalt platform. The only thing stopping me from switching over from 12v to m12 is the fat grip, top heavy and many reviews claiming it gets really hot. This is for both the impact and hammer drill.
@mfcbuildsАй бұрын
The fat grip is definitely a deal breaker for a lot of people. For me, the grip size is made up for in compactness. I like to throw my impact in a belt pouch or clip it on. Not having the large battery "square" bottom really minimized the footprint.

Yes and no. Usually when I grab for a 1/4" impact driver, it's because I don't need extra torque and like the weight and size savings, except these from Ryobi aren't especially compact. IMO, if you have some of their sub-4Ah packs, might as well use them, whether in a 1/4" impact driver, or one of their smaller flashlights, are some of the best tools to use them in.
