Thumbs up on the vid. I would like to add that it sounds like you had the orbital function off on the Ryobi. Turn the dial to its highest setting and you will find it will cut much faster. Still doubt it will come close to the Milwaukee in performance, that thing is a beast!

Played with that off video. There was no noticeable difference in power. Unfortunately, I truly barely use these for anything for other than rough cuts and it showed 😂

LOL, I like after you cut the first wood, you said, Yeah, it's Ryobi. I did notice, however, that there appeared to be fewer tear outs on the Ryobi.
@mfcbuilds
@mfcbuilds 6 ай бұрын
Both tools had quite a bit of tear out, but this is completely bc of the blade used. There were the Diablo rough cut blade and have very few TPI. For fine finish you would want and blade with higher TPI or I like a downcut blade.

I talked about (admitted) this with someone else 😂. Had to show proof of an older jigsaw that functioned that way. In all fairness... the orbital function did not increase the performance a noticeable amount.

Those percentages are in comparison to the NON brushless version of the RYOBI JIGSAW not vs. other brands. It still would hold its own against other brands, i just wanted to correct your experiment where it was wrong when i caught it.

@@mfcbuilds man i just left out of home depot before i watched this video, and spoke to a ryobi woman that had been texting about ryobi days since i left the damn store. We held both boxes in our hands and had a discussion. Where you misinterpreted what you read, which i didnt see you reading anything but the box, isnt my fault buddy. Youve been done with brushed motors so you wouldnt have the conversstion i had anyway because im not an in depth tool guy. But i can read and have a high comprehension level. Great video though i appreciated it. Milwaukee is hella expensive and all my tools are ryobi so anyone that gives us a fair shake, im on their side.

I appreciate that. Ryobi has held their own in almost all testing. The only one I truly cant recommend is their 18v recip. I honestly shook my hands to death. Using that tool any more than a minute wreaks havoc on your hands.

Ive had the ryobi for about 6 months and its wildly capable for its price. I love milwaukee but there are just some tools that milwaukee doesnt greatly outperform

I would need to test the D-grip milwaukee. Power wise, it's not even close. But, for doing jigsaw things... Ryobi was great, especially for the price! I just truly use it for rough cuts 99%of the time.

Me owning multiple tool lines and Ryobi one of them, my only complaint is the batteries. The HP battery doesn't seem improved as marketed. Same kind of goes with Ridgid. I like and use the tools, it's just my experience with them.

Might have some gunk and build up in the seat for the blade. try a little dilute rubbing alcohol dip the seat end pf the blade and break some of the build up, use compressed air to blow it out after breaking it up.
@alx21k
@alx21k 7 ай бұрын
also might be gunk and build up inside the lock mechanism no letting proper compression on the blade, again dilute alcohol and a Qtip followed by blow out, you can then follow it by spraying some dry silicon lube to maintain lubrication without practical build up, will need to be sprayed regularly as dry silicon does not stay on surfaces long

It has been this way since new in box. Should have exchanged it immediately lol. It's not so much that the blade won't seat properly, more so that the blade is almost always at a cant (twisted). It's not a huge issue. Just like pointing out issues with a tool when I run into them. But, I'll try cleaning regardless. Thanks for the tip.

The Ryobi was actually so much better, I had to give it a completely dead battery just to give the Milwaukee a chance.

For cutting wood, is this better than a portable recip saw?

Be more specific? I love my jigsaw for rough cutting 8/4 and even 10/4 boards. Miter saw almost always kicks and binds.

@@mfcbuilds there are reciprocating saws clips showing everything is great about them, so I wonder if you had to choose only one between a jig saw and a recip saw, which one would you get?

@myuncle2 I owned a jigsaw for years before buying a recip. My advice on buying tools is... wait until you need a specific tool for a specific job, then go buy. I "try" not to buy tools just bc I want them

It took you longer to change the degree on the Milwaukee than it did to cut with the Ryobi!
