(These are going first for a reason. I get severe migraines. This combination of super thin glasses arms and gel ear cups are a game changer. And personal preference on most comfortable boots I've ever worn.)

Looks fantastic, never been a fan of the bow ties. The Rubio mono-coat can be tricky to get it right. Design and execution is spot on.

Thank you. The inlays are definitely a source of debate. Seems people love or hate them and nowhere in between.

Beautiful! I don't understand those two bow tie-shaped wooden plugs you inserted in the desktop. Are they simply decorative or do they serve some other purpose?
@mfcbuilds
@mfcbuilds Жыл бұрын
Thank you. These are called "Bowtie Inlays" and they are both decorative and functional. Used to prevent wood from cracking and expanding. I used them in a place of concern. They could have been used on the bottom side of the wood, but I wanted to show them off, complete preference thing.

Very nice! Would be perfect if the legs fixed straight to the desk without the extra mount between 9/10

I can appreciate the migraines. I get them myself. After you jointed the pieces, How did you place them on the planer sled?
@mfcbuilds
@mfcbuilds Жыл бұрын
For my boards wider than 8" there is a lip left over from the jointer (seen at 0:48). I place my board on top of plywood with that lip hanging over the side. For longer boards you don't really need anything holding them together. The friction alone is usually enough. You could apply sandpaper to you plywood if needed. Once I get a flat top (0:58), I flip my board over, run through the planer again, and plane until the lip is removed. I really need to do a video on just my milling process. And the glasses/hearing protecting do help a lot. I'm sure better combos exist, but this is the best I've found thus far.

@@mfcbuilds I'm sure there would a lot of people that would appreciate you posting the milling process. It's somewhat of a dark art for beginners.🤔

@@bitsurfer0101 For sure. I did a ton of research when I bought my jointer. I will make the video happen.
