You are never too old to follow your dream. I moved to Alaska, finally found my dream property in 2020, still not completely dried in. Another winter w/o metal on my leaking roof. Just turned 64 last month. Came from Virginia. Didn't like the cold/ snow for same reasons. Came to Alaska after a vacation here, like you, it called me here....home. I call it "heaven's backyard !!" Ya'll will do great here !! Yes, it's hard, but you also learn that you are stronger in all aspects than you ever thought. Also, you build up your muscles, heart rate, breathing,immunity, etc. on a daily basis ! I watch some of the other AK shows, but each of you offer your own unique situation, location, and skills . I enjoy yours bc, it's 2 ladies doing this. I am a single older woman, little income, just trying to survive & live out my dream of being here. It's a struggle every day, but at least I am " living my dream" ❤instead of " rocking my way to the funeral home", 😅 !!!

@@livingintheforest3963 Thank you. I will check out that channel. Yes, we usually do have bear spray with us but we didn't that day so we didn't go very far into the forest. I know something can happen in a parking lot but, we were trying to make as much noise as possible.

@BlackSpruceCabinAK AK is a 40-year dream. I have followed a lot of AK channels. The algorithm gets it right sometimes and sent you to me. I went up in April for the first time. Stayed with some friends whom I met on KZbin. I am hoping to buy land in the Talkeetna area. I also have a content channel, so I may have commented under that in the past in the past.

@@Slaphappy-_-I think they all need some type of electric power source to power the fan, even if it's solar. They are also going to need something to spark the flame. I think there are gas models as well.
